Babushka nods and quickly runs up to the kender. "We should keep our hoods and veils, as good women do in this country" she reminds her.
What is on offer in the market?

"I am Magi." He smiles "I can stop them if they try to escape." He waves his hands as a 'no' in regards to the locks.

Once the man leaves, he sits on the edge of the bed, not making a move towards the two Kender. "I am called Jerrard." He says kindly, scanning the room a moment.

Locky giggles, her hood up she looks like a slightly elven looking child. She just looks around, scanning the sights.

The guards shrug and step outside, closing the door behind them.

The two kender, unusually subdued, share a glance, then look back to the mage. The male speaks up first. "We've...never done this together before. Are we...supposed to take turns or something?" he asks, confused.

"This will come as a shock, but I do not wish to do anything to you." He smiles, "One of your fellow Kender heard you were here, and asked if I could visit you."

"How did you end up here? I have seen how they treat you."

The female says, "We were visiting town, in the marketplace. About a year ago. We were just looking and having fun, when some guy said we were thieves. I guess some of his stuff must have fallen into our pouches. But they were pretty unreasonable about it. We were arrested, and they cut off our hands," she says, holding up her stumps.

"Without our hands, we couldn't survive," the male adds. "So we would have died, but they put us on chains, and then put us on a big auction block. We were bought by the guy who owns this place, and we've been here ever since."

"I suspect my friend will be treated in the same way, but she is a Cleric of Paladine." He shakes his head at the stumps, "I find that repellent, that a living creature would treat another that way." Gently patting the female on the arm he shudders.

"I will help you if I can, but you need to act like I did things to you, to both of you." He motions to the pair, "So no one will know I did not come here for. Well you know. You appear to be unpopular, in someways, I am not sure if that is good or bad."

At the woodworker's, Babushka looks at the display of decorated boxes and chests and points out the patterns to Locky (the idea is to spend a lot of time in or near shops whose wares are too large to "fall into pouches"). Either at the cobbler or the merchant's, she will buy a small drawstring pouch and transfer her change to it.

Jerrard

The female flinches slightly at his touch, but doesn't say anything. The male just nods slowly, as if considering the wizard's words. "Okay...so we just pretend. Then what?"

Babushka and Locky

While visiting a merchant's stand, Babushka purchases a little pouch to hold her money in and ties it to her belt.

=========

Babushka buys a small belt pouch for 5 copper, then puts her change in it.

(OOC: Guess we'll just assume Babushka brought a platinum piece with her.)

Locky was having a great time, all the sights and people were great. She loved it, she was so distracted by the other Kender to borrow anything.

"Well, I can't do anything now, I wish I could but there are things out of my control here." He tries to look excited, trying to cover his fear.

"I will discuss 'buying' you, I have some money, my friend will help." He places his head in his hands. "I can't just take you out of here, but I can't."

"This whole place is horrible to me, they offered me a young girl, twelve, horrible." He looks at the two Kender curiously. "You do not seem, well like most Kender. How long have you too been here?"

"It's a very interesting place, though," the male says.

The female had already told him how long they've been here, but she goes ahead and repeats it, "It's been about a year."

(Sorry.)

"Interesting? How?" Jerrard asks trying to keep them calm, although they seemed pretty relaxed already.

"Forgive me I have not asked your names."

"Sampler Thicketsway," says the male. "And it's very different here. The culture and the people. There's sand everywhere, and it's really hot. And people aren't very nice, but they dress strangely and have lots of neat stuff. It's like a whole new world here."

"I'm Casberry Stumpwater," the female offers. "I'd offer to shake your hand, but...well..," she says with a shrug. "You can call me Cas, though."
