Imani lets out a small groan after she tries to yank her sword free from the stone, but it won't budge. Leaving it behind, she runs over to help the others with the last Baaz. Though, she seems to have the same amount of luck everyone else is having.

Smiling as she sees the Bazz go down, Locky runs behind the columns, tapping Bab on the shoulder.

Cure Moderate: 1d10+1=9 Hp restored.

Swapping postions with Locky, Jerrard lets loose two more arrows,

1d10, 1d20+1, 1d20+1, 1d8, 1d8=[3], [10, 1], [8, 1], [4], [1]

Misses again, damn.

"Thank you" Babushka says to Locky, continuing to circle the column, still in full defence, leaving the others to deal with the remaining Baaz.

Babushka moves toward Jerrard, but Jerrard moves toward Locky. Then he attempts to fire his bow at the last Baaz, but both arrows just skirt off the column that is blocking the way. Ulster, meanwhile, decides to go retrieve his sword before making a further fool of himself.

Locky hurries to where Jerrard had been standing moments before, and calls upon Paladine's favor. Touching Babushka, the warmth of divine energy flows through the gnome's battered body. One of the slash wounds across her back heals completely, while the other shrinks considerably.

The fight between Thuskar and the Baaz continues, and Imani joins in with her remaining scimitar. The last Baaz is particularly aggressive. It parries Imani's attack, then dodges Thuskar's. Thuskar is able to deflect an attack, as well. However, the draconian can only keep up with both warriors at once for so long. Sooner or later, he makes a mistake. Thuskar raises his blade overhead and slashes downward, nearly severing the baaz's head in two. He quickly withdraws the sword just as it petrifies.

The next few moments are nothing but silence, save the party catching their breaths.

Ulster, having retrieved his sword, returns only to find he's too late. "Aww..."

===============

Initiative
Imani (1d10+5): 12
Locky (1d10+5): 11
Jerrard (1d10+7): 10
Babushka (1d10): 1
Ulster (1d10): 5
Thuskar (1d10+7): 15
Baaz 01 (1d10+5): 13

Round 5!

Babushka moves westward, toward Jerrard.
Ulster moves northward and picks up his rusty long sword.
Jerrard moves to Locky's position and fires a sheaf arrow from his short bow (1d20+1): 11, miss.
Locky casts Cure Moderate Wounds and attempts to touch Babushka (automatic success). Babushka is restored (1d10+1): 9 HP.
Imani attacks Baaz 01 with her scimitar (1d20+1): 5, miss.
Baaz 01 attacks Thuskar with his scimitar (1d20-2): 2, miss.
Thuskar attacks Baaz 01 with his two handed sword (1d20+2): 4, miss.
Jerrard fires a sheaf arrow from his short bow (1d20+1): 9, miss.
Thuskar attacks Baaz 01 with his two handed sword (1d20+2): 19, hit for (1d10+3): 13 damage. Baaz 01 petrifies.
----Thuskar makes a DEX-3 check (1d20): 11, pass. Thuskar's sword is not trapped.

Combat ends.

(OOC: Jerrard, I'd have ruled those arrows would have missed anyway, as the column is blocking his line of sight. Always make sure you have a clear line of sight when using a projectile weapon.)

Babushka quickly throws her arms around the kender. "Thank you again. I have lost count of the times I would have lost my life if it wasn't for you and your God." She then puts back the fungus staff (assuming it has gone limp) and goes to retrieve the bow she has dropped earlier, checks it and stows it away if it is not damaged.

As soon as Babushka loosens her grip on the staff, it goes limp again. She finds the bow she dropped not far from where she dropped it. It must have been kicked around a bit during the scuffle, but remains intact and undamaged.

Thuskar wipes the blood from his sword and sheathes his blade. "That could have gone better."

"Yeah, no kidding," Ulster complains, sheathing his own sword. There's no need for him to clean it, on account that he failed to actually hit anything with it. "I don't about the rest of you, but it kind of feels like...someone wanted us to lose. All of us. Even the draconians."

"Oh, don't get worked up about it, Ulster. Some days, you simply have no luck. I remember a day back home when each and every invention someone did went wrong. At the end of the day, there was such a mess that it took a whole week to clean everything up." Babushka somehow manages to get a twinkle in her blue eyes, despite everything.

"I guess. Still kind of felt jinxed," Ulster says. "One good thing, though. If there were Baaz here, that means we're on the right track. The Vizier had some Baaz with him. Those were likely his own guards. I wonder what they were doing in here, though?"

"Indeed, something was there, did you, ummm?" Looking at both men Jerrard gives them a questioning look, "Something happened, didn't it? Something confused you, did it?"

Placing his bow back in his quiver he gives Babuskha a quick squeeze, then turns to Imani. "Are you ok? I think there is a presence here, something affecting us."

(One of the problems with not being in the same room, I mean't to move so I could get a decent line of sight.)

"Couldn't that be just a strange spell that is meant to confuse anyone who enters this temple? Jerrard, Locky?" Babushka asks. "We shouldn't let that fool us. The baaz the vizir brought here are danger and enemies enough."

"Its Paladines will to heal you, he wouldn't heal you if he didn't want to." Locky grins, "And its my pleasure!" She says wrapping her arms around Babuskha.

"I think its possible that the evil gods are trying to stop us. And of course this Demi-God."

"I did hear that whispering again," Ulster admits. "It kind of distracted me."

"Either way, spell or divine intervention, it's all the more reason to find the princess as soon as possible," Thuskar comments.

Imani walks back over to where she left her scimitar, hoping now that the Baaz has turned to dust so that she can retrieve it. She looks down at her broken bow. "Well, that's useless now," she says. "What is being whispered to you?" she asks curiously over her shoulder. "Or can you not understand what is being said? Also, I don't think those draconians were on top of those columns just so they can attack us."

After a couple of minutes, the draconian holding her sword crumbles to dust, freeing it.

"I can't make it out," Ulster admits. "It's just gibberish. But it seems...unnerving. Sinister, I guess? Like...maybe I don't really want to know what it's saying."
