Re: OOC Chat
I've browsed through the priest's handbook, and decided I do not want to take a kit. Not only that none seems appropriate, but I don't like the idea of a kit as such. I prefer to develop my characters "out of their stats", with the info provided about the world they live in.
There's more to me than meets the eye...
Re: OOC Chat
Okay, we have finished the first module, DL1--Dragons of Despair! Hey, and it only took nine months. That's not bad, I was expecting a year. So we're ahead of schedule. Hmm, at this rate, we might actually finish the whole adventure by 2020. (No, I'm not kidding!)
As usual, when we finish a chapter, I'm quite interested in any feedback, criticism, questions, whatever you may have. I will now prepare the second module, DL2--Dragons of Flame, which consists of Chapters 5-10. I'll also begin on leveling up the party.
Speaking of which, I have another update. I have a house rule that states if a character takes the Reading/Writing NWP, they become literate in any language they can speak. I'll be integrating this rule now, meaning some of you will have some freed up NWP slots.
Speaking of proficiencies, I usually require that for a PC to learn new ones, he or she must find a trainer, and spend some time learning. I'm going to forgo that rule in this game, because there's really not a lot of downtime with the war going on. So you can fill your proficiency slots, both weapon and nonweapon, as soon as they open up, if you like.
Okay, enough of my yammering. I'm going to get started on leveling up the party and opening the next thread.

Had an incident at work and will be doing a large amount of paperwork for a while. Will try to make time to post at night, but may be tied up for a day or two.

Re: OOC Chat
This is the first time I played an adventure with a pre-generated character, and it needed some getting accustomed to. To this day, Goldmoon is not as close to my heart as others... but I must say that having Nuke play Riverwind now helps!
As I don't know the books at all, it is interesting to see how the story unfolds as we play.

Re: OOC Chat
I think so, too. Actually, I rather enjoy the fact that you haven't read the books and don't know what is coming. It's interesting to me, that this party actually deviated from the books more frequently than the last group I ran DL1 for--which was composed entirely of original characters, not the pregens! But my last group were all diehard fans of the book, and seemed to go out of their way to follow the book exactly.
Anyway, on to those level-ups.

So how do you want to spend those two NWPs?

Re: OOC Chat
Okay. Tanis, Flint, Raistlin, Goldmoon and Laurana are all done.
That just leaves Riverwind, Caramon, Tas, Sturm, Magpie, Sunstar and Raven-eye left to go.
While we wait for them to confirm their level-ups, I'll get started on chapter five.
EDIT: Oops, almost forgot. Breila, if you want to change any of your spells, let me know. Also, Goldmoon now has a second 3rd level spell slot you may wish to fill.

Re: OOC Chat
Done. Magpie is now officially yours, Jenara.
Also, I got chapter five up. Should be interesting to note, that the events of this (rather short) chapter do not appear in the books at all. So everyone should be on equal grounds here on what to expect.

Re: OOC Chat
Riverwind is going to swap the short for a longbow, and specialized in the long bow. He will look to find a decent dagger for two weapon fighting.
NWP will be blindfighting, since I gotta hang out with all these demi-humans.
And he is now such the believer of Mishakal, he wants to convert.

Re: OOC Chat
Okay, I've swapped your Short Bow proficiency with a Long Bow proficiency. Of course, finding a long bow to use is up to Riverwind.
Rangers don't receive weapon specialization like fighters.
Blind-fighting costs 2 slots, but you only have one. I can give it to you now, if you want, and when you get your next NWP slot (level 9), it will automatically go into Blind-Fighting. Does that sound all right?
As for wanting to convert, I assume you mean unlocking your character's divine powers? Riverwind is a ranger, and therefore will get spells at level 8, if he converts to a god by then. He can do that by reading the Disks of Mishakal. However, he needs to follow a nature deity in order to get those spells. Mishakal is not a nature deity. The three nature deities in Dragonlance are Habbakuk (good aligned), Chislev (neutral aligned) and Zeboim (evil aligned).
Riverwind can 'convert' to Mishakal if you really want him to, but he won't get access to his spells at level 8 then.
