Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh (This is the Game Thread)

(Sorry, missed what was going on, slight mistake, changed the post above.)

Gunters axe slides between Echo and her attacker, the blade narrowly missing the mage's shoulder, instead it smacks the attackers arm. He screams in pain, causing him to loosen his grip on Echo, her unconcious body falls to the ground, slumped in a heap.

"You Bastard! Me arm!!" He screams, striking wildly, tripping over Echo as he lunges at Gunter with a dagger (Gunter is unable to see this, simply hearing a thud, a battle cry and the sound of metal on stone.)

The attacker holding Amon simply moves away from the scene in the darkness, taking Amon with him.

Kim's attacker clutches at his chest, the dagger stuck inbetween his ribs, pulling it out with a cry he dives forward.

"you're right, this cloths couldn't be the reason for cathing a hobbit, making Skelletons alive and all the other strange things here."

Vee looks around, then the chest catches her eye. "If I had something to be hidden, I'll put it in there... " she says, pointing at it.

"Possibly." Brax comments with a frown.

The chest is partly smashed, and could open easily.

Kim moves cautiously forward, the idea is to get to the stairs and out of the room. The dagger is still ready, ears keen on hearing if someone's in the way.

(Waiting on actions from Searos and Gunter. Plus Vee can act too. Echo will recover at some point too.)

Vee opens the chest

Vee opens the chest, which opens easily, the lid falling on the floor with a sudden 'thud!' (which can be heard throughout the house)

Inside the chest is more clothing, all quite new and from first glance appears quite expensive.

Searos starts to dig through the clothing, taking it out of the chest and piling it on the floor. He appears more interested in the chest itself and once he empties it starts looking for a false bottom to the chest or some other hidden compartment within.

Gunter attempts to press his attack on the fallen man while trying to get a sense of where his companions are.

"Kim, Echo, Amon!"

Gunter swings his axe, the blade meeting something hard, there is a sickening thud and then silence.

(Echo needs to make a save vs poison, please?)

Searos reaches into the chest, throwing the numerous piles of clothes on the floor (some of which Brax eyes curiously) he taps slowly, listening for any hollow spaces, the middle section drums nicely to his touch.

Searos smiles to himself a bit and starts feeling around the middle section with his dagger looking for a spot to pry up.

"nothing about these clothes seems right..."

"Do you think there is something hidden under the chest? Something shiny? a crown, a string of pearls,gold..." and with each word Vees eyes bacame bigger and bigger.
