CH 1: The Arrival

"Of course" Karathos answers and motions to Jinali and Salwen to go first. "After you, ladies." He will also let Targin precede him, in case he doesn't follow directly behind Erastin and Galeyne.

He is all eyes and ears as they pass through the building, mentally comparing this center of the human warriors to what he knows from home.

Galenye walks along side the soon to be knight comfortably. "I guess once we are all up there, you are going to be kind of busy," she says. She was going to stick around naturally, but she knew it was mostly all Erastin at this point. Quickly, she takes a moment to kiss Erastin on the cheek. "For luck."

The six slowly begin climbing up the stairs that will take them to the 11th floor, which seems to take hours. Along the way, they all get a little glimpse of each floor before moving on to the next one.

At the entrance to the High Council Hall, all of the candidates and their companions are gathered around two Knights of the Rose. The party gets in line, waiting a few moments. When the party finally reaches the front of the line, one of the knights holds up a hand to stop them. "I need the candidate's name and the name of his sponsor," the knight says.

[Nuke]

As if on queue, Targin steps forward facing the Knights of the Rose.

"I, Targin Steelaxe, Son of Wargon Steelaxe, Senior Counsel member of the City of Kayolin do hereby present the Knight Aspirant Erastin Rivenguard. I have trained him in the martial arts, though the training in the ways of knighthood are his own. May he uphold our honor throughout your trials."

As he finishes, he bows deeply gesturing with his right hand towards his protege.

Karathos draws himself up to his full height of seven feet (plus horns), trying to look honorable and serious, but does not say anything.

[Jerrard]

The would be Knight blushes when Galenye kisses his cheek, "I am, but I hope you understood I want you to stay?" He whispers as they climb the stairs.

When they reach the High Council Hall he waits for Targin to speak, before moving away from Galenye.

"I am Erastlin." He bows at the waist his face solemn and serious. "My Sponsor is Sir Delson, have studied the Oath and the Measure and hope to be worthy of the order."

The Rose Knight checks his ledger, and nods with satisfaction. "Ah, yes, here we are," he says, making a notation. He nods to his companion, who hands Erastin a set of white robes. "Please put these on," he says. "Also, I need everyone to turn over their weapons. You won't need need them in there."

Galenye wrinkles her nose as she removes her bow, arrows, and other weapons from her person. She understood why it needed to be done, and since this was for Erastin she was going to do it. "So other than watching our wonderful knights perform a bunch of tests for you guys, what else can we do to entertain ourselves around here?" she asks. "I suppose cheering on our soon to be knight is out of the question?"

[Breila]

Solemnly, Karathos hands over his battle axes and, as an afterthought, his grappling hook. Hearing Galeyne, however, he has trouble to maintain his composure. That girl had a knack for making him laugh... He sincerely hoped they would find an evening to explore the town together... that would certainly be entertaining!

Targin turns his weapons over as well.


OOC: road trip back sunday

Handing over his fathers sword and other weapons Erastlin bows solemnly, "Certainly."

(OCC; Is it accepted custom to place the robes on over armor, or to change, if so is somewhere available? Some of this could be said IC but I am unsure as to what he knows)

"Galenye" He gives the woman a cautionary look, one that she knows from experience is partly for show.

(OOC: He may place the robes right over his armor and clothes, that's fine.)

Pulling the robes over his armor, the would be Knight steps forwards, his head low ready to undertake the tests he has trained for as long as he can remember.

Galenye raises her hands and shrugs at Erastin with a smile. "What?" she says innocently.

[Breila]

Surprisingly swift for a body that size, Karathos steps up to Erastin. His right hand grasps around the man's lower arm in a warrior's greeting, and he lowers his head so that his front touches Erastin's, his horns framing the friend's head.

"My thoughts will be with you, my friend" he simply says, but the deep voice makes his skull resonate and the vibrations are transferred to Erastin, he can feel them in his head and shivering down his spine.

Then he lets go to make room for other well-wishers.
