Tower ruins were the campsite the night before last.
Tonight's camp is a forest clearing with a big white birch tree, as shown on the map you below (click the thumbnail for a bigger picture):

And it wouldn't have been an easy task in any case. You might have gotten the wagon into the ruins, but probably not gotten it out again.

Hey guys, sorry I've vanished. I'm up to my eyeballs in final exams here in China (my classes only run for eight weeks at a time). I'm gonna try to get back soon, but no guarantees.

Funny you should post when you did, Tempest. I was just about to post that I was waiting to hear from you before proceeding with the thread.
I will NPC Elias for the time being, if you want. Let me know in general what he plans to do.

Papa is covering Fraso and Salia. Oh, and he's on the horn with HQ for close air support - "Snake and nape on the treeline!"

Combat Rolls
Since we're in combat now, this seems a good time to discuss procedures. Play by post causes a time-dilation effect which gets worse during combat. This effect can be reduced by good communication, so:

When posting in each combat round, please post your PC's intentions. This can be as simple as "Gnorts swings at the orc" or more complex "Revelc moves to his left, holding off his attack until he can get an angle on the vase in Yugdab's right hand, then swings at the vase." By posting intentions rather than actions, it is easier to adjust when things change. Also, if there is a critical point where a PC would change an action (for instance, if you intend to attack until you get to your last 5 hp) let me know in advance. If your side should happen to lose initiative and winds up on the receiving end of big beat-down, your actions may quickly shift from attack to retreat, healing, or something else.

We're doing individual initiative here, so everybody please roll a d10 for initiative each round. If you have a dex modifier, please apply it to your initiative roll.

Roll "to hit" for your attack. If entitled to multiple attacks in a round, roll for all of them. Please apply all bonuses for strenth, weapon specialization, magical weapons, dex (for missile attacks)

Include damage rolls as if your attacks had hit. If they miss, we cam just ignore the rolls. Remember to apply damage bonuses as necessary.

Once I have everyone's intentions and rolls, I will post the results for the round.

So its clear, I though everyone read the Tavern but maybe they dont.

My husband had a heart attack on saturday, he is ok and coming home soon, but my focus is elsewhere right now.

I will post where I can.

Best wishes Jenara. Hope everything is going okay.

Things are settling down here. I'll be back to posting in a couple of days. See y'all then.

The site's funky behavior has really interfered with the flow of the game this past week to two weeks. Now that it is stable again, we have Christmas and other holidays on the way, which means people are going to be busy with family stuff.

I will continue to post this week as I am able, and let's hit this hard in the new year, okay?
