The Pod-Caverns of the Sinister Shroom (Game Thread VIII)

[Jenara]

Locky splashes about with abandonment, she leans over washing her hair, she glances over at the boring Mage, always so stuffy.. She laughs.

"Come on! Have a splash."

[Breila]

"After you" Babushka gestures to Leafloam. "I bet you can hardly wait to see the sun again. And to be honest, I feel the same"

[JadedDM]

As Locky splashes around in the pool, Leafloam begins his climb upward to the surface. Although this is a climb that would take about a minute for anyone else, because of Leafloam's size and weight, it takes three times that long. But he makes it and immediately heads toward the sunshine without looking back.

[Breila]

Babushka follows, shuddering as she passes the place where the giant spider attacked her.

Babushka makes her way up the ladder, and to the surface. It's a beautiful day, around noon if the position of the sun is any indication. Leafloam has all ready found a nice patch of grass and sunk his roots into the ground, stretching his boughs as high as he can as he absorbs the nutritious sunlight.

[Breila]

With a wide smile, Babushka walks over to Leafloam, strokes his bark and hugs him, then settles down at his roots, back and head against his trunk, to enjoy the sun with him, waiting for Locky and Jerrard to come up, too.

[Jerrard]

Watching to ensure Babuskha has gone, Jerrard removes his robes and other items before jumping in the pool.

He spends ten minutes washing off the grime of the journey, and tries his best to wash out his pack. (ie remove the fish smell.)

"Come Locky." He pulls himself to the bank pulling on a light set of breeches and a shirt, letting his hair hang loose. "Let us dry in the sun." He collects his gear and climbs the ladder to the surface.

Finding Bab he grins, and rests beside her, occasionally stroking her hair.

[Breila]

Babs leans her head on Jerrard's arm (the shoulder being to high!) and enjoys their moment of peace.

Locky jumps out of the pool, pulls on a shirt, collects her pouches (and a few pretty looking stones) before climbing up the ladder.

Seeing the pair lying by Leafloam she giggles, sits down stretching out her bare legs.

"Whats next?" She giggles again, looking up to the sun, "I guess you'll all leave me and go back to whatever you do.. I don't want to go home, they all laugh at me. No one respects us Kender."

[Jerrard]

"I doubt anyone would ignore the great Locky, she who vanquished the Sinister Shroom." Jerrard says with a smile, ruffing her hair.

"However the point is true. My Master will want me back, my training is not yet complete. He gives a frown, "I am almost ready to attempt the Test." He shudders despite the sun. "Many do not survive."

He looks at the two little Women with a grin, yes he would ask them. "My home is sparse, but you are both welcome to come to stay, if you wish."

[Breila]

"That would be lovely, I haven't had a home since my mentor died" Babushka says in delighted surprise. "Mount Nevermind is no home to me anymore, I return only out of duty to my family.

However, before we consider going anywhere, we have to take care of the horses we left down there. Without our help, they would starve.
And frankly, I miss Dekker, my donkey. So I suggest we go to the village, if you, Locky and Jerrard, are ready. Leafloam will stay here for a while and regenerate, I guess."

[Jerrard]

"I believe Locky should finish dressing first, then we should indeed go to the Village." He smirks at the Kender while brushing his hair and strapping on his blade.

"And I would not dream of leaving the horses behind, I would like to keep them." He pats Babuskha's arm gently and looks to the Village.

[Jenara]

"Hehehehe." Locky giggles, standing she pulls on some breeches before slipping her pouches her shoulders she jumps up. "I'm ready, lets go!"

[JadedDM]

Leafloam seems to come to and stirs, retracting his roots. "I shall...accompany thee," he says groggily.

The four begin the trek back to the humble village of Buho. Leafloam easily falls behind the others, however and the party is made several times to pause and allow him to catch up. Oddly enough, since arriving on the surface, he seems to have become more lethargic than he was down in the surface, deprived of sunlight and fresh air.

But there's little reason to complain about the delays. It's a beautiful spring day, made all the more lovely after spending the last few days in the dank, dark caverns of the Shroom. There's nary a cloud in the sky, the sun feels warm on their skin, and the melodious songs of birds float through the air.

It is around 2PM that Buho comes into view. It hasn't changed at all, but then it's only been about a week since the party first left here. Somehow, it feels like it's been almost a year. The simple villagers roam about, fulfilling their errands. The Last Pony Inn, the stables where Dekker is kept, and the temple to Paladine are sights for sore eyes, indeed.

In fact, even as they approach, they can spot a man outside of the temple, leaning casually against the wall by the entrance. He sports a number of bandages and has his arm in a sling. He appears to be waiting for someone. Once they get a little closer, they can see, it's none other than Shay.

Locky gives Shay a little wave, "Hello!" she shouts cheerfully, bouncing onwards she runs to the entrance, dragging Bab along with her.
