Locky continues to fire stones at the creatures, rather interested in what spell the Shroom might cast..

1d20+5=18, 1d20+5=10 Hit AC 0, and AC 8.
1d4+1=5, 1d4+1=4 5 & 4 Dmg

As the fungus staff stiffens at her feet, Babushka fires another stone with her sling, and again it only glances off her opponent.

Locky fires two more bulls-eyes, however, and her target collapses to the ground, covered in nasty bumps and bruises.

Locky fires her hoopak at Podman 01 (18, hit) for 5 damage and (10, hit) for 4 damage. Podman 01 falls.

Jerrard attempts to step into the open, meerly seeing the creatures causes him to return to cover, shaking like a little child.

Jerrard rushes into the room, but then his fear gets the best of him and he spins and runs back out. Ulster hesitates in indecision, unsure if he should go and try to help the girls, thus leaving Jerrard alone in the dark, or remain where he is since he can't really fire a bow with a torch anyway.

Meanwhile, the Shroom finishes his spell and suddenly, four more Shrooms suddenly appear. All five of the Sinister Shrooms move in perfect unison, immediately beginning the casting of a new spell.

The two podmen in the pods break free, while the remaining podman shambles forward toward the girls. It swings at Babushka, just barely missing her. But then it grabs her left shoulder tightly, restricting her movement.

Jerrard runs in then runs back out.
Ulster hesitates.

The Sinister Shroom casts a spell (1d4+2): 4, now there appear to be four additional Sinister Shrooms!

Podman 02 approaches and attacks Babuska (1d20): 10, near miss and (1d20): 11, grab. Babushka now suffers a -4 to all attack penalties.
Podman 03 exits its pod.
Podman 04 exits its pod.

Round 2!

(OOC: Each square on the map is about five feet. A podman is slow, but it can move 60 feet in one round. It only had to walk 25 feet to reach Babushka.)

(ooc: oh sh..., once again cut off my staff. And I meant to write that Babushka pays a lot of attention to the podmen's movements, making sure to drop her sling in time to get her staff. You didn't write the podmen advanced at all.)

Locky lets loose two stones from her sling, firing at the two Shrooms at the back, interested to see if she manages to hit the Shroom its self.

"I will not be beaten by a Giant Mushroom!" Jerrard shouts at himself, summoning up all of his courage he storms out facing the creatures, letting loose his magical missles at two of the remaining Shrooms. (the two in the middle)

Locky fires two more pellets, aiming now for the multiple Shrooms. Both stones hit different Shrooms, but they merely vanish into thin air as if they never existed to begin with. There are now only three Shrooms left. Looking into her pouch, Locky would note she now only has one pellet left.

The Shroom finishes casting another spell. Locky and Babushka can see him sprinkle some kind of metallic powder around him as he finishes. But whatever the spell did, it wasn't very flashy. Nothing visible happens.

Suddenly, Jerrard bursts in with a battle cry, Ulster at his heels. Having conquered his fear, he is ready to face the Shroom and its henchmen. But he stops short. He cannot see anything beyond Ulster's torchlight. Without a target, he cannot direct his spell!

What's more, the light from Ulster's torch ruins the girls' infravision. Now they can no longer see the Shrooms or any of the podmen save the one grappling Babushka (as it is within 15 feet of Ulster).

The Shroom(s) laugh, their voices echoing throughout the cavern. "What fine targets you've made yourselves with that light! Ah, and the wizard again. I thought you had potential, but you are just a mindless dog of the Conclave. No matter! None of you will leave here alive!"

(OOC: Breila, picking up the staff will take up an action. Babushka spent her action last round firing her sling. She can choose to pick up the staff this round, if she wishes, but it will use up her action to do so. That's just the way of turned-based gaming, I suppose.)

Locky attacks the Sinister Shrooms (21, hit) and (17, hit). The first stone (1d5): 4, hits an illusion. The image flickers and vanishes. The second stone (1d4): 3, hits an illusion. The image flickers and vanishes.
The Sinister Shroom casts another spell. The results are not immediately visible.
Jerrard conquers his fear and runs in. He cannot cast Magic Missile, however, at the Shrooms, as he cannot see the Shrooms in the darkness.
Ulster hurries in the room, still bearing the torch. This ruins the girls' infravision.

(OOC: Babushka left to go. Remember, Ulster's torch has a range of 15 feet. Each square is 5 feet. The girls cannot use their infravision (60 feet range) while in the torchlight. Jerrard and Ulster cannot see beyond the torchlight at all. The Shroom and the Podmen can see the party just fine, however. Attacking someone you can't see incurs a -4 to hit.)

Realizing she has no chance to get at her weapons, and that her little fists won't impress the podman, Babushka bites once again.

(ooc: ...and next time I hope I make it clear that as soon as an opponent attacked with her sling begins to move towards her, she'll drop the sling and pick up the staff. Had there been any indication that the podman moved towards her after the first attack, I would have posted that)

(OOC: But it's her turn now, and there is nothing stopping her from picking up the staff with that action. I'm not sure I understand the problem.)

OK, Babushka picks up her staff, then. I thought this was not possible while in the podan's grip.
