It's not called Dungeons and Dragons for nothing!

Actually, I don't know this for sure 100%, but I think there's at least one dungeon in each module, some bigger than others (the Sla-Mori, for instance, Thorbardin, Skull Cap, Icewall Castle, etc., etc.).

So plenty of action for all. :D

I believe you are correct. I am always reminded that despite how well she is doing in Pod Caverns, Dungeon Crawls are not Jen's thing! Her Characters are usually too, well, flighty!!

Sturm is interesting, there is so much to him, yet, I am barely touching the surface.

Can you tell he knows me so well? hahaha!!
I have had to change Locky from my original idea, to mold in with the group, just a tad.

So I am sticking to my Guns on Laurana! She will become the person she is 'supposed' to be a little early, if the story stays true, she will see things to change her soon, to force her to grow up.

Believe it or not, I'm not much for dungeon crawls, either. In fact, the first time I ran Pod-Caverns, I started to get pretty bored with it after awhile. But this time around, I'm really enjoying it. I think part of that is that the players are getting into it more than my other group did.

Don't worry, though. While each of the DL modules may have a dungeon, they never take up the entire module. There's plenty of towns, wilderness areas, and so forth, as well. I think Pod-Caverns is the only module I've run that was just a dungeon crawl, and nothing else.

I was so surprised I let Goldmoon do the right thing when the forestmaster had summoned the party and left them in the dark... as a player, of course, I am always in the dark, not knowing the module or the books. I have to rely on instinct, logic and life experience to decide what to do.

That's probably why I write so much about Goldmoon's emotions, to explain why I let her do what she does.

How do the rest of you feel about "my" Goldmoon? In your opinion, does she fit into the setting, or is there anything I should change (I don't promise I will, though)?
There's more to me than meets the eye...

I don't see anything you 'should' change, although there are some minor differences. Your Goldmoon seems to hang on Raistlin's every word, considering him a good source of advice and counsel, where as the Goldmoon in the book was wary of the sorcerer, partly because of his appearance, but also because of his red robes (and also, I think, just a lack of experience with mages in general). (Actually, with the exceptions of Caramon and Tanis, and then only to a degree, and of course, Tas, most of the party acted with caution around Raistlin.)

Goldmoon is something of a paradox, at least at first. She's a very strong, proud woman used to being in charge. On the other hand, she's in a strange land, her destiny is being thrust into her hands whether she wants it or not, and she's not very worldly. This leads to her alternating between stepping forward and being brave, and kind of cowering behind Riverwind, unsure of what to do. And in that regard, you have her spot on.

On occasion, you'll react so much like the Goldmoon in the book, it's a little startling. Take this post you made in reaction to seeing the Forestmaster:
"Forestmaster..." Goldmoon whispers as the unicorn allows her to be touched. Tears come to her eyes, all the hardships, questions and fears of the past days welling up inside her. But the strange beauty and wisdom that emanate from the unicorn seem to dissolve all these emotions, and with a "I thank you" Goldmoon is able to let go.
Now compare this to the scene in the book:
The unicorn's beauty pierced her heart. Goldmoon felt swift tears spring to her eyes and she was forced to close them against the animal's magnificent radiance... In later days, when Goldmoon walked dark paths and her heart was bleak with despair and hopelessness, she had only to shut her eyes and remember the unicorn to find comfort.
Uncanny, isn't it? Knowing that you haven't read the book and yet can still pull off Goldmoon so convincingly is just evidence to me that you really understand the character and what makes her tick.

Long story short, you're doing beautifully, and I hope you're having fun with her.

I guess this bit wasn't designed with Laurana in mind... with her 90% resistance she is almost totally immune to the sleep...

Unless there is something about it I don't know... ?

The module doesn't specify, probably because it wasn't expecting an elf in the party. Then again, Tanis is half-elven, and it's not brought up either. So who can say? Laurana has a much better chance to resist than anyone else, though, if we take the rules at face value.

I think I'll ignore that rule, if its ok, and say that she is affected like anyone else..

Otherwise she'll end up pretty bored... The Forestmasters magic is older or something.

I can think of at least one instance in the books where Laurana is affected by a sleep spell. Granted it was cast by a silver...errr, silver-haired Kagonesti (yeah, that's the ticket), but I remember having the same thought when I read that scene.

Yeah I know the one, why I was thinking of the rule bend! The rules are a guideline, there to be bent and altered to suit the story. :D

A new chapter begins. We have left the open world map for a smaller, wilderness setting. A new marching order might be needed. Any thoughts?

I was hoping to do some serious posting with an extended weekend off from work. But a trip out to my elderly parents revealed some damage to their home. So, my brother and I have been busy making the most crucial repairs to stabilize things, till we can get a crew in there.

I may post later this evening but most likely it will be tomorrow from work.
