In human terms she is 14 or 15 i am thinking, and yes it shows through in your role playing.

How do you subscribe to a forum or topic to be notified of new posts. Initially I was receiving emails, but haven't lately.

Ohh....Perhaps it is this little check-box at the bottom.

Or.. In your profile, set notify on default.

Plus if you don't visit the site, you wont get notified again until you do...

Yes... changed the default setting, that should take it care of it.

Thanks for the assist.

Well now, that depends entirely on how you define winning, isn't it? :D

Oh, I'm reminded of something I wanted to mention earlier, and I'm not sure if I ever did.

Regarding the two magical staves in this game:

The module states that the Staff of Magius' two main powers (Continual Light and Featherfall) can be used once a day. I'll allow them to be used at will, though. I don't find that terribly overpowering.

Another house rule I came up with last time I ran this game, is that all healing spells cast by the Blue Crystal Staff are full power, no roll needed. So Cure Light Wounds always restores 8 HP every time, for instance, instead of the standard 1d8. We came up with this rule because it was frustrating to, for example, expend four charges to cast Cure Moderate Wounds only to restore a mere 2 HP because of a bad roll. While this isn't an issue for a normal cleric and her spells, because they can be mostly or fully recharged each night; for Goldmoon and the BSC, it's more annoying to 'waste' the charges because they only are restored 1 per night.

The values for the various cure spells would be as following:

Cure Light Wounds +8 HP
Cure Moderate Wounds +11 HP
Cure Serious Wounds +17 HP
Cure Critical Wounds +27 HP

Other spells function normally.

OK, that was poorly stated. It should be: "The DM always gets his way"

He wasn't the only one trying to bring that scene about. ;-)

Its the problem knowing the books off by heart..

But then i feel like Laurana reminds me of the way they shoehorned Arwen into the Lord of the rings movies. I find her saying things that others said.

Well, of course I don't know the books. (But I want to read them after we've played them.) However, I thought the interesting part in playing the modules would be to see what else could come out of the situations? Like in "parallel history" fiction?

Its quite interesting watching things play out right now. :D

I am curious how much things will change and how much things will remain the same.

True enough, but in this instance, I found it advantageous for things to play out this way. Largely because we've spent 10 pages of the thread (over a month real time) sitting at the tavern, chatting. Granted, there was quite a bit of catching up to do, and new introductions, as well. But things were moving slowly, and I didn't want anyone to get too bored.

(Namely, me. :D)

This was kind of a kick in the butt, narratively speaking, to get things moving. It also doubles as a good way to sort of push Goldmoon and Riverwind together with the others, whereas they had little incentive to join up beforehand.

Looking back, I now wonder if perhaps the original creators of the game (Hickman and Weis) did not foresee the same things, and came up with this scenario for the very same reason. A way to tell their players, "Talking time is over! Now let's get this epic, grand adventure on the road!"

I'll admit that a similar issue was confounding me. It has been years since last reading the novels, and longer still since last running the modules. With the details fuzzy to me, I was reluctant to post.... Too much second guessing on whether Caramon would do or say a specific thing... I found my hands tied by a constant analysis of how would Weis and Hickman do this?

I had similar thoughts in the beginning mltillis, but then I eventually decided to stick true to the spirit of Raistlin and play the character on my own. Otherwise we might as well just go read the books again no?

I pulled the novels from the shelves and put them away... just to avoid the temptation.
