Babushka approaches. "Elvenoff, if you want to heal someone, best do it for Locky here" she says, gesturing to the kender. "She's our healer, and a very good one. She brought me back from near death a short while ago. If she's OK, she can take care of us others."

Elvenoff touches Locky gently, and before she can object, his hands begin to glow and she feels her wounds start to mend as a warmth fills her soul.

Shay stabs at one of the remaining podmen, but misses when it ducks. He notices Elvenoff healing Locky. "You can heal? Well, he's not a podman, that's good enough for me." The thief starts backing up, giving the paladin room to attack.

The podman fighting Shay manages to grab ahold of his left wrist, but fails to punch him. The last podman steps forward to engage Locky, but she nimbly avoids both of its hands.

Elvenoff uses Lay on Hands on Locky, restoring 6 HP to her.
Shay attacks Podman 06 (1d20): 5, miss.
Podman 06 attacks Shay (1d20): 19, grab. (1d20): 6, miss.

Elvenoff nods as he watches some color come back into the small frame of the Kender, satisfied that the healing was accepted by her body, he gazes back over the battle just in time to see one of the humans backing up giving him an opportunity to engage the enemy. Quickly he draws forth his longsword and advances into the hole that was provided for him. Without hesitation he prepares for battle.

Elvenoff lashes out with his blade at the podman approaching Locky. Although it's a blow that would have killed an ordinary man, the podman ignores the wound and continues onward, limping slightly.

Locky jolts physically as the unknown man heals her, her body repairs, yet.. Her soul screams from the Heathen Power, she almost feels Paladine glaring at her.

"Hilda sent you?" She asks, before driving her hoopak into the next creature.

1d20=13, 1d6+1=6

Jerrard seeing the newcomer start to handle the remaining Podmen, he looks to Bab. Then shakes his head, and draws his sword. Standing between the newcommer and Shay, he drives his blade towards the creature.

1d20=8, 1d6+2=7
Thaco: 18, hit Ac10, 7 damage.

Elvenoff’s felt the vibration of the sword as it cut it’s way through the green creature. Brows arose in disbelief as the creature continued toward the kender. It was one of his most powerful swings he has accomplished in a few days and this thing was nearly unaffected by the attack. He turned with the creature as it pressed onward.

A small smile crept across his face when the Kender asked him a question even though a creature was moving in to attack her. Shaking his head slightly with a chuckle, “Yes, She said there was many villagers and stock coming up missing and their was a previous party sent to investigate and that I should find and link up with you all. She gave me your descriptions so that I may identify you all.” he chuckled even more as he realized that he was doing the same thing as she was.

Locky stabs her opponent, but it still keeps coming, not unlike the walking dead. Are these things even sentient or merely some kind of organic automatons? Jerrard swings his sword at the other, but it ducks just in time to avoid.

Babushka frowns at Jerrard's look, not understanding its meaning. Then her face lights up with an idea. She takes the knife Shay gave her from its sheath at her belt and ties it to the magical staff. Maybe the staff can transfer the magic to the blade? It would be woth a try...

If she still has the time, she'll attack the cage again with her makeshift lance.

Locky grunts, this had stopped being fun now, the creatures just kept coming..

"They are quite horrible, aren't they?" She asks with a grin, looking to her left side before jabbing at the creature once more. If Paladine had planned on her being a warrior, surely he would have given her a bit jore muscle.

"Please, die now." She mutter.

Jerrard once again strikes at the creature, his blade flashing twice this time, the newcomer seemed to be fighting, that was a start, they needed to kill these, then figure out how to rescue the Merithina and Ulster.
Once that was done they could find out who this Figure was.

1d20=12, 1d8+2=4, 1d20=16, 1d8+2=4

Hit AC 8 And AC 2.
Dmg 4 and 4

Babushka attacks the cage again with her makeshift polearm, but it proves no more effective in harming the fungus membrane than before.

Meanwhile, in the battle, Shay misses again and gets a rabbit punch in the jaw for his efforts. However, Locky and Jerrard manage to cut down the last two podmen, ending the fight. The podmen's bodies lie on the floor, purple blood pooling beneath them. Everyone is splattered in the podmen's blood, covered in bruises, and mostly out of breath. Although they won, the fight was long, brutal, and exhausting.

Shay cleans off his blade, then sheathes it. The stone head, still wrapped in Jerrard's cloak, bobs about, following him wherever he goes. He looks to Elvenoff and nods. "Thanks for the help, but who in the Abyss are you?"

Locky attacks Podman 08 (14, hits) for 7 damage. Podman 08 falls.
Jerrard attacks Podman 06 (12 and 16, both hit) for a total of 8 damage. Podman 06 falls.

Deep in thought, Babushka stands back. "Fungus, fungus" she mutters. "What do I know about fungus?" She runs her hands over the material.

(herbalism check: 1d20=1)

She goes from cage to cage, anything she'll try, she wants to do it on an unoccupied one, if possible. After all, it would be no good to set the cages on fire, for example, just to burn the victims, too!

Three of the fungal cages are occupied, but one is not. Going over everything she knows about fungus, Babushka still can't think of anything she's ever encountered or read about that might explain these phenomenon. The only explanation is it must have been grown magically in some way.

Locky panting turns to the new arrival. "Hello, your quite handy with that blade aren't you?" she attempts to straighten her hair and clothes before looking up at him.
"I'm Locky Lightfoot, Cleric of Fizban, in all the excitement i didn't catch your name.." she eyes him curiously, in the way of the Kender.

Distracted she glances into the next room, where the Podmen came from, she takes a look, scanning the room quickly. "I wonder.."
