Act 3 Scene 2: Coffins and Crowns

[Revenant]

Esker Manyblades

The northman wasn't so much searching for the kender as he was looking for evidence of the leech. He glanced back at Iscind giving her a slight nod. And then he moved ahead looking for trouble.

[Styrius]

Kybalion hears the faint protests of the wayward kender. The others move towards the back of the warehouse. Being this is an unknown place to him he advances slower than the rest as he has seen how capable they are. The other holding back he is glad for as they can be the surprise if this is a trap. He waits for a turn before moving forward.

[Nocturno]

Cross stays back with the Human.
"I'll stay with you, I've had enough close combat for quite awhile."

Pyros lashes out at the oddly aggressive rats, though he manages to catch only air. Disturbed by the sounds, the rest of the party quickly find their way along the side hall and rush to the rogue's aid. Once eyes adjust better to the dark it appears he is engaged in a scrappy back-and-forth with three fairly large rats. More mill around in the darkness behind, hissing and baring their fangs in bolder and bolder displays. The appearance of the others seems enough to prevent the masses from swarming, but the three rats in the fore have beady red eyes only for the rogue...

[Nocturno]

"Hi Everyone! These rats seem to be fiesty. Jerry, might that be a "good" sign?" He will say over his shoulder as he attacks again.

Jerry considers Pyros's observation, tyhen nods, "It is a likely sign, yes. A strong indicator but not a certainty. Naked flame in this place might send the whole place alight." She brandishes her morningstar, "Pest control time!" and glances at Pyros with the faintest of smiles.

[Jenara]

"Oh **** this." Mira utters and opens her palms, "Shot through the Heart!" She belts out, slightly breathlessly. Bolts of energy shoot from her hands, red instead of the usual blue.

Magic Missile [1d4+1]=1+1=2 [1d4+1]=3+1=4 [1d4+1]=2+1=3

She targets the three large rats.

[Jenara]

Karl spies the rats with a look of distain, "This feels wrong, and thus I suspect it's right." He galnces at Mira and shakes his head.

"Language." He mutters and draws his mace.

[SwifiePrincess]

"Rats? They would be foiling the produce. Now I understand the club's. I bet it someone asked, they would say the same. Are you always so vocal?" She giggles at the Bards Outburst, oh it felt good to laugh.

"They will try to swarm"

Pyros stabs one of the rats attacking him, killing it. Mira mutters her musical mnemonic and missiles of magical force fire at the furry foes, finishing them off.

Jerry and Karl charge into the smaller almost-swrm of rodents, chasing them back and dispersing them. Several of the grainary ratcatchers arrive and set about bashing the scattering rodents. Another takes a scoop and sack to collect the newly tainted patches of grain for removal.

From here there are no other obvious paths through the storage area, though a sturdy oak-framed stairway near the side door clearly leads up the the next level. A block and tackle pulley system suspends a small platform laden with sacks of grain at the second level aa well.

Jerry and Sir Karl disperse the smaller rats

[Jenara]

"Better." Mira relaxes again, "So Jerry? I'm assuming this is a good sign?" She motions to the rats, "I've never seen rats that big, truly and I lived near a port."

[Nocturno]

"Onward!" Pyros continues on his "investigations".(meandering)

[Chris1234]

"Yes, very indicative," Jerry replies sternly, but not intended at Mira. She glances at the bard, gives a half smile and adds, "Like the little on said, 'Onward!'!"

[SwifiePrincess]

"Where?" Riel asks, she pauses, those things must have come from somewhere. "I wonder if there is a door we can't see?"

(She will look for secret doors)

[Jenara]

"Wait, she might have a point, where did they come from Pyros? The rats?" Mira asks hoping the Kender pauses.
