Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings

[TristenC]

The old man blinks at the mention of 'secret doors', seeming confused. Secret doors? Hmm... not that I know of. Maybe he is in one of the rooms? Though I can't think of why... He seems sincere.

Just then, Coraline comes out from the bar area and begins to cross the hall as if going towards the kitchens

[Styrius]

“Perhaps we should return to the upper level and look once more. There must be something we have missed if Haldrake has not returned” Kybalion remarks. “Maybe we try leaving the place as we found it and something else might open. When one door closes another window may open, or there may be some magic afoot.”

[Nocturno]

Does Coraline look troubled?

[TristenC]

She looks mildly irritated but not 'troubled'

[Nocturno]

Pyros whispers to Jerry in Common.

"Im going to check that out." He heads over to the Coraline.

Still invisible right?

[TristenC]

[Yeah he is still invisible]

Jerry nods at the kender's whisper but focuses on the desk man.

Pyros rushes off to follow Coraline who moves to the kitchen. She sets her tray down and Beeter indicates some prepared small-plate dishes. She gathers them as she complains idly in Elven about 'not being appreciated' and 'ordered about like a common mutt'. Honestly, I'm the best server the inn has and he wenches me out like I'm some common hussy! Gleeda and Tina don't bring in anything but the randy old dregs. Why half the rich clients would rather eat elsewhere than be served by those ham-handed, club-footed sows. If I'm going to be running the bar half the time now that Ledalar got himself killed like a fool...

The tall, heavyset man chuckles a little at the tirade, Don't tell me, I'm not the boss anymore. I just want to cook. If you talk to Haldrake about it I'm sure he'll agree with you... The gorgeous blonde puts on a slightly pouting look but hugs the man around his chest, and his massive hand pats her shoulder in a fatherly gesture. You can always vent it out here first. Be better for you if you don't light into him like your tail is on fire. he chuckles.

The comment earns him a short jab to the ribs, but Coraline smiles up as she steps away to gather her tray. Thank you, Beeter. Maybe one of these days he'll see my worth... I'll make him see. With that she gathers up the tray and all but stalks back towards the bar, shoes click-clack-clicking on the hardwood floor of the dining area wirh an almost military staccato; hips rolling with a feminine sway.

[Nocturno]

Pyros will then rush back, in Elven.

"Seems they all know about Ledelar. At least that he is perished. I only told the big man about our encounter."

[Styrius]

“So what do we want to do from here? Go back and check upstairs? We must have missed something!”

[Jenara]

"Sir Karl.. shall we find out where our friends have gotten to?" Mira asks as she forces herself not to watch Sabrina as she departs, partly because she was concerned, and partly for other reasons..

"Fair lady, I will protect you as best as I am able. That creature drained something from me... But I will not let you down." Raising his head proudly and ensuring the people were indeed safe he checks his blade.

"Thank you." Checking her remaining blade she heads back outside.. looking for the others.

Broken Wheel
Mira and Karl step outside into the night. Nearby they see two familiar figures returning from the area behind the inn towards the road. Merrick and Cross spot the pair and wave them over. We were following the cloud as it moved North, but we lost it when it sailed up over the hill. The half-elf says, pointing off towards the NorthEast. We weren't able to make it up the hill, and the others had to keep going so they didn't lose track. We're going to take the road here and see if we can catch up to them! Cross adds


The Old Kartakan Inn
The group stands near the front desk, trying to decide their next move. Jerry ponders the issue a moment. If Haldrake was helping us search, who was tending the bar?

[Jenara]

"Well let's go shall we?" Mira responds taking a deep breath, wondering how exactly she could take this thing on.. quitely cursing those who caused her to waste her magic.

"Lead the way. I will cover the rear." Karl announces giving them his best confident smile. "We will beat this monster. Somehow."

[TristenC]

Mira, Sir Karl, Cross and Merrick hustle up the hill and follow the road, turning Northeast at the intersection. Moving towards the river's edge they search but there is no initial sign of the others. The roar of the waterfalls echo louder in the night as they head further East, and eventually the Old Kartakan Inn comes into view. Not sure where they would have gone if not here. Cross admits. The four cross the swaying bridge amid the cacophony of crashing water to approach the Inn and Merrick pushes open the door.

Just inside they spot Pyros, Jerry, Kybalion and Airand seemingly in deep thought before the old man watching the desk...


The Old Kartakan Inn
The door to the in swings open to admit Merrick and Cross trailed by Mira and Sir Karl. Ah, there you are. We found something, though not what we were looking for. We have much to discuss... Jerry says upon seeing the new arrivals,

[Styrius]

“Meanwhile the coward could be recuperating or getting away!” Kybalion states. Frustration evident in his voice.

[Jenara]

"My apologies. The inn was a chaos, and.. we need to keep a good standing here, lest we end up on the street." Mira answers as she enters, blood smearing her clothing was more than evident as she she strides to towards them.

"What did you find?" She asks.

Karl enters behind, his hand on his sword, he felt drained, more than he ever felt in the dark days of the High Clerists tower. "Pray tell."

[Nocturno]

"Yes, who. Maybe they know where he went."

Pyros darts to the taproom.
