Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
We had an... unfortunate encounter with some Jackal-weres about a week ago. Jerry explains. But that was in the forest, far from town. The trio returns to the main hall and ascends the stairs to the second floor guest rooms, seeking Haldrake for permission to check the staff rooms.
The stairs open to a Guests' Lounge, which looks quite adequate. A fireplace stands against the wall of the stairwell, and a small stack of wood rests next to it. Several cushioned sofas set around the area. There is even a table and chairs provided for an evening card game. The ceiling is the underside of the steeply slopped roof, and becomes lower towards the edges. To the south, the wall slopes away from this area where the roof of the inn joins the roof of the main building.
Airand stands in the area, glancing around confusedly. Haldrake... he said he was checking one of the rooms while I searched another, but now... the young man shrugs, He has vanished...

Airand points to the room in the corner (bottom Left of the image), That one, but it is empty... he says, perplexed

Pyros heads there.
"Empty of people, but maybe not of clues!" Pyros will go with the suspicion of a trap door, or secret passage.

Pyros opens the door to the room in the corner. The room sports a small side table, a window facing West where he can see the edge of the adjoining roof to the south. A iron-framed bed piled high with blankets stands tight against the south wall.

Kybalion follows along still trying to make sense of things. "Maybe I angered Umberlie the Bitch Queen or I am under the control of an evil illusionist and he has me snared in his twisted spell. This place it can't be real he mutters to himself. "No way but through" he sighs and keeps exploring and prodding on walls and floor floor strange sounds or maybe a trigger.

Pyros raises his voice a bit. "Big man, you in here still?" He will start knocking on walls and the such to find a doorway.

Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
The kender begins knocking around on the inside of the room. The walls and floor feel pretty solid, that is until he gets to the south wall, which makes a somewhat hollow sound. Airand grabs a lantern and brings it into the room to illuminate the space. Inspecting the wall Pyros finds a well-hidden seam about the size of a door behind the bed. The bed itself is bolted down to the floor, and surrounded by another odd seam...
Kybalion pokes around near the room with the butt of his polearm. The wood paneled walls seem pretty sturdy except for one spot. On the South wall, just outside of the room Pyros is in, is a dead-end. One of the knot-holes in the woodwork wiggles a small amount as he taps, as if it were loose or not fully attached to the plank...

“Found something over here, does someone know about switches or triggers or something? This knothole is loose” Kybalion declares. He will hold off until the other two finish what they are about.

Pyros scampers over and checks the knothole, he finds no sign of traps but it does notice a thin seam in the shape of a door cleverly diguised into the paneling. The loose knot looks to be the trigger!

TWO SECRET DOORS!
================================
Pyros can't help himself and presses the button.
"OPEN SESAME!" His theatrics missed since he is invisible.

Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
Pyros pokes the pocked pine, and an audible click sounds as the planks swing inwards to admit them. Airand shines his borrowed lantern and the dark passage spreads out to either side. To the East it bends around Southward at what must be the edge of the inn. The Western half of the passage turns in the same direction.
From his previous endeavors, Pyros can discern that he must be behind the back of the servant's quarters! In the hall to either side, a powerfully coiled spring sits loaded next to the back of what must be more secret doors!
