(Mira is dealing with the patrons, not the creature, once she is sure they are all safe she is going out to do what she can.. the Vampire is outside!)

[OOC] After all my delays, I went a little OCD on the map-making, but here we are. I'll post the round's actions soon with tokens on the map.
'Dungeon Alchemist' doesn't do different levels/floors well, so it looks like the rooms are on the same level as the tavern, but they are not.
The ground floor of the Broken Wheel at that level is where the staff stay, the baths and other stuff but that shouldn't be relevant for this fight. [ooc]

[ooc] It wasn’t clear to me if Iscind was moving through the commons to follow Esker or if she meant to stay there. On the map I put her with Esker, if that is not correct, please let me know and I will fix it [/ooc]

The Broken Wheel (int):
Pyros hurls a second stone at the creature, but the shot sails far past. Merrick crams his head and shoulders through the window beside the kender and recites his magical mnemonics yet again. Another trio of magical missiles sails through the night, striking the undead in the back! The Vampire snarls but continues moving towards the barn at an angle to make similar further attacks impossible.

Mira takes Sabrina’s hand and leads her into the commons. With a Charismatic energy she assembles the remaining patron (the young man), the two servers and the bartender to one corner of the commons away from the doors. She takes up a position near the center of the room, ready and watching in case the creature returns inside.

With the escape of the creature, those upstairs scramble yet again to catch up with their enemy. Kybalion snatches a nearby lantern against the night as he, Esker, Iscind and the local man Airand charge back through the commons, past the kitchen and out into the night. Elsa hustles behind, trying to keep up.

The Broken Wheel (ext):
Cross utters an evocation and twin streaks of light fly from his fingertips as the Vampire approaches. The bolts of force slam into the undead figure of his friend’s father just seconds after Merrick’s missiles do the same. The enemy’s expression darkens and deepens with hatred as each new blow lands, That’s it, You are FIRST!!! He sneers, closing the distance. Invisibly the Knight stands, poised to strike. Just before the monster reaches the white-haired elf, Sir Karl’s magical blade clips his foe’s shoulder; halting his approach and revealing the armored man!

With a vicious snarl the Vampire slams his fist into the Knight’s chest. The prodigious blow dents his armor, sending him reeling. Deathly pale fingers wrap around his throat and his vision narrows as if he is being pulled down a long hallway and looking at the world through a shrinking window in a sea of pitch. A sinking like the descent into a boggy marsh pulls at his soul, his heartbeat slowing and fluttering as the life force begins to drain from him! Foolish creatures… so many eager to be First to die! A wry grin of pure malice slowly forms on leathery lips. Yes… I will drain you to the last drop… then force you to destroy your former friends! Hideous laughter erupts from that maggot-white face. What fate more fitting could there be for one such as you?!

Gregor finally manages to get the fire-flask lit, but with the others in such close proximity he hesitates to keep from harming his friends.

[Sir Karl has been Drained, but he is still in the fight! I can’t remember if the party asked about Restoration when they were at the Church earlier, but it would be a good follow up for tomorrow!]
[Esker and the others near the back door are about 90 feet away so if they want to close the distance and attack this round it would probably require a Charge maneuver]

How far down is it?
Many hand holds?
Would the Kender taunt be a full action? If so I will do it this turn instead.

Kybalion rushes out towards the fighting hoping that the cowardly vampire is otherwise occupied and won’t heed their approach from the Tavern. [1d20]=16
Being pissed that the vampire runs around taking sight of it, he hurls the lantern hoping to coat the curr in burning oil.

Iscind

Iscind lets out a warcry and starts running in the direction of the vampire, her sword raised in one hand and the lantern in the other.

(Sorry I can barely read the map so if I'm being vague blame it on my poor eyesight.)

[ooc]Yeah, sorry the map isn't great resolution. opening it in a new window helps a little but it's still a little fuzzier than I would like. I'll try to correct that for next round[/ooc]

Pyros climbs deftly over the windowsill, clinging to the exposed beam and plaster as he makes his way towards the ground. Once at a safe distance he lets himself drop, shouting his insults at the Undead. Perhaps the creature was unaware of the nature of Kender, perhaps he was impatient or frustrated by the now-visible Knight, perhaps the child-like aspect of the taunt itself was responsible for his reaction. Whatever the reason, the Vampire turned towards Pyros Litefoot with absolute murder in his eyes.

In a rage he raced towards the diminutive Rogue as Cross’ dagger sailed harmlessly past him in the night air. Sir Karl slashed his Father’s Longsword at the fiend as it fled, but his limbs seemed leaden and unworkable after his ordeal. Jerry moved towards the monster, drawing out a stake and mallet from her backpack; hoping together they could stop the thing that was once her own father.

The pair of Myrmidon’s, only recently come to this dark land, charged as one; the light of Iscind’s lantern leading the way. Her shield-brother struck first, and longest of Esker’s many blades landing true and slicing a bloodless cut through the vampire’s flesh that healed before the edge finished passing. His sister-in-arms swept a vicious slash with her own sword, though the erratic movements of the enraged undead evaded her arc. Kybalion, hardly a step behind, thrust a great bladed-spear between them. The enchanted edge plunges deep into the Vampire’s side, eliciting a shout of outrage which echoes into the night as the body bursts into a cloud of mist laced with red tendrils!

He can’t hold his form anymore, and must flee to his coffin! Jerry shouts to the others.

Airand rushes up behind the others, stabbing at the vapor with his pitchfork but it seems as effectual as stabbing a cloud. You mean after all that he’s going to Get Away?! The violet eyed man all but growls.

He only has a couple of hours to make it! If we can manage to follow him we can end this tonight!! Otherwise, we’ll have to find his lair on our own. But if we take too long we’ll be back to square one. By this time tomorrow night, he’ll be at full strength again. As if to pursue that end, the cloud of red-streaked vapor begins to rise slowly above its assailants...

The Broken Wheel (ext):
Merrick shakes his head, Sadly, I'm not yet skilled enough to Evoke a fireball... nor do I have anything prepared that can harm him in this form...

Cross nods, I'm out too. Nothing that could work on that... althought. He concentrates, looking in the direction of the barn. The cloud continues to float upwards and away from the group. After a few twnse moments the large raven sails out of the stables, sweeping a wide arc before perching upon the white-haired elf' shoulders. Perhaps we can convince Fenrir here to follow it... unless there are any other ideas?

The Broken Wheel (int):
Elsa trots back into the common area. We got him! Or, at least he can't do any more harm tonight. Jerry says we'll have to find his lair to finish him permanently, but the danger is passed for tonight.

Cross shakes his head, I used it already with Sir Karl. It was truly a needed advantage.

I still have it prepared. Merrick chimes in. He quickly casts the spell on the Kender as the cloud begins to move farther away. Be very careful, Pyros, and don't get lost in the fog. he advises
