The Brink [of Madness] Act 1, Scene 1

A classic 2e Puzzle dungeon for High Level characters
Beware, this one is substantially longer and (IMHO) even harder than the legendary Tomb of Horrors!

"Hmm... I thought you are more resistant to... err... hits. Tomorrow I will pray for healing spells as well. The good news are that if you die, I can revive you." Ke'Sha tells Landro.
He turns to the others, "All are OK with Jack scouting ahead for traps with me and Gur close behind?"

=============================================================================================
(OOC: Ke'Sha will go few meters behind Jack so he can sense dander before Jack hits it and with Gur flying nearby he can detect magic as well.
BTW, anyone wants to 'observe' the stone and the mail? Or wait for camp?

Is 2e I can only use the magic healing on the wound once?

[Jag can keep healing. The healing nwp is only once per battle. Also, Ke'Sha doesn't have access to the Healing sphere.]

[Yeah, it's good until 8am, day2
so tecnically your first spell healed him for 17 hps. He only needed 21 to be back to full so you can save the 2nd spell if you want]

Jag prays for healing and almost all of Landro's wounds close cleanly. The giant kin grins, Thank you, my friend. That is much better!

Jack takes the glowing stone and pockets it to hide the light. Cautiously he makes his way down the opening from which the trolls emerged. After a while he sends a mental message back. Seems all clear down here. Big room, a hall and another door.

Jack uses the stone to illuminate the main room (A2) and he points off to the small room down the hall. Looks like the trolls' bunk room. The hall is a dead-end... at least I couldn't find anything.

====
Jag casts Cure Serious Wounds on Landro while the Incense of Meditation is in effect.

Landro is healed for [2x8+1] = 17 hps!

Landro improves to Barely Scratched! [79/84 Hps]

One square is 10 feet. The 'barbell' shape in the center is the ladder leadimg them into the room

Ke'Sha arrives closely after Jack down and waits for the others to gather. "The trolls bunk room you say... Let Gur take a quick fly there to make sure there are no trolls left sleeping here..." And he sends Gur off to scout being invisible and using his detect magic to spot invisible creatures.

============================================
(OOC: Let's check the trolls room, the dead-end and then the second door)

Gur checks the troll bunk room and finds it empty of trolls. Jack moves to check the room out in more detail. Eight large wooden beds line the walls, packed with straw, and in the center is a large wooden blood-stained trough with bits of bone and ruined armor in it.

Jack searches around the beds and finds some sacks of loose coin, trinkets, trash, meaty-bones and shiny rocks like quartz. Now this seems interesting... found it in one of the sacks. He says to the others. The rogue holds up a ring of green stone carved to resemble a serpent eating it's own tail...

[Who would like to check the dead end and in what manner?]

Ke'Sha ignores the gold and the special rings, and focuses on the meaty bones, trying to figure which creatures they belonged to. :)
Then he uses Gur's sight, by instinct born of long time companionship with the Quasit, and checks the ring Jack found for magic.

================================================================================
(OOC: The dead end is at the end of the long corridor above room 3, in it's east end, right? Jack want to check it. For traps, secret doors, levers, signs etc. Thanks,)

The meaty bones seem to be from humans or demihumans of some kind. Gur confirms that the ring is magical, though more detail he cannot tell.

Jack and Jag spend several minutes going over the apparent dead-end, but find nothing. Gur's magical detection likewise finds nothing there.

"Well we seem to be amassing a collection of items. Maybe we should identify some of these in the next day or so."
Jag will head back up unless something else comes to light.

"Where to next?"

Well, we've come to dead ends in all the hatches except for this door. Jack sends, indicating the door just left of the hallway. He checks it for traps and gives the 'all clear'

Identification seems prudent. Sadly I have not prepared it for today so it will require either aid from camp or to wait until morning. I presume your situation is similar Jag? Given your phrasing. She infers.
