Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
The Old Kartakann Inn (Gregor, Pyros, Mira)
As far as Mira can tell there are no other connections to Jerry aside from the party's involvenent in killing Jackques. However, Jerry's appearance isn't terribly uncommon in town. Slender young blonde lady, of a similar height. Short hair among that demographic in town does seem uncommon. Laisa had long hair, last they saw her, but obviously easily changed.
[the names all seem to fit the local Kartakan conventions.]

Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
I'm still a bit cautious about the barkeep's missing items but agree it'd be good to know more, Gregor sighs reluctantly but nods in agreement with the kender. Pyro, might it be better to let our charmin' lass 'ere present the tale and we can keep our eyes open?
Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
Del nods back and touching Esker's arm, urges him to follow her in. She nods at the man and enters, following the supposed madman.
"Killing means never having to say you're sorry"
Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
He shrugs, "Maybe. Doesn't matter too much to me. He did give me this mustard though. He says on a full moon, I can put it on my nose to see these beastmen's true form."
Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
"Airand is a performer, he took my place at the last Inn i played at in Harmonia. He's very good and I think. " No she didn't need to share that! "These are all local names. So you want to talk to the Bartender? And ask him? I just finished breakfast but I get to see Sabrina again so I'm game if you think he knows. And he might know where they took Laisa. I need to say goodbye."
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

"Ok, you guys come as backup. I will go see if I can chat him up again!"
Pyros waits until everyone is standing, and then opens the door to head to the bar.

Esker Manyblades
Esker follows Del's lead, she is obviously at ease in these environs and looks to know her way around what at first glance is but a seedy hole in the wall type of place. The northman checks his weapons surreptitiously, as was his habit when entering potentially hostile situations. He had no doubt Del could hold her own, so this was more for his own sense of protection that he did so. Following in her shadow he entered the building.

The Bottomless Pail: (Delsenora and Esker)
The pair follow the madman through the door to find the interior somewhat cramped. The rough wood floor carries many stains while the mismatched and warped planks threaten to catch the unwary boot. Simple but servicable wooden furniture fill the place, and a small hearth with low embers does little against the chill of the morning. Several rough looking folk of various ages loiter about the commons, and make no secret of tracking the newcomer's progress.
The vagrant shuffles his way to the long wooden bar and the man behind it. Dark hair and violet eyes regard the newcomers immediately with obvious appraisal. Producing the odd copper coin the beggar spins it on the bar, palms eagerly rubbing together. The bartender, a man of middle years with a few extra pounds but the look of muscle beneath, doesn't bother looking at the coin. Instead his hand slaps down on it as he finishes his assessment of the pair. Only then does he lift his hand, saying something in Harmonian. He pours a short beer for the madman and slides it over, ignoring the small spill as he does so; as if it could lie there unnoticed until doomsday.
The older man cups the mug in both hands, practically giggling as he sips and savors the cheap brew.
What's yer repository? the bartender finally asks Del in 'cant' spoken in Elvish.
["What is your goal/ what do you want?"]
The Old Kartakann Inn: (Gregor, Pyros, Mira)
Pyros pushes aside the heavy oak doors of the inn releases a shuddering creaking noise and reveals anentrance chamber. Set back on either side is a hat rack next to a bench. Alcoves jut off on both sides of the benches where various coats and outer garments hang. The room is unusually dark and the odor of wet cloth and leather hangs in the air. At the far end of the room another set of heavy looking doors stand.
The second set of thick oaken doors leading from the cloak to farther inside open with almost no sound to reveal a long hallway. The odor of cooking is sweet in the air, sparking memories of fine meals and relaxing evenings with friends. The basic decor of the area is elegant, but in a modest and unassuming way. Light is provided by a series of fine lamps secured high on the walls. Beside the hall's entrance on the south wall is a small alcove in which several shawls and other delicate garments hang.
To the west, is a busy dining section with a number of tables set out for the guests. The smell of cooking clearly comes from this area.
To the north, a clerk works behind a desk, obviously handling the affairs of the inn. Behind him, a hallway runs into the heart of the building.
To the east is an arched hallway leading down some steps and ending in a thick, heavy curtain of some dark brown fabric. Where one can hear several low voices coming from beyond it and the inviting smell of fine spirits is strong. (The bar) Without Hesitating, Pyros moves past the curtain and into the bar area.
Pyros pushes his way past the curtain. The majority of the eastern half of the room is taken up with a sunken area that contains the bar and several tables. A wide variety of bottles and glasses stand on a heavy shelf behind the party, readily available to the barkeep. The western wall of the room is composed of along row of dark brown curtains screening off three alcoves. The curtains covering the center alcove hang open, revealing a round table and several stout chairs around it. Whispers can be heard from behind the other two, but curtains are so thick that they make it impossible to overhear the discussions beyond.
There are only twos patrons at this early hour. The bartender on duty behind the counter this morning proves not to be Pyros' burly friend, but a man with a dark beard in his thrities. He wears a snug vest and the sleeves of his shirt are rolled to the elbows. His gaze falls on the newcomers as they enter.

Iscind
Iscind too distracted by all the comings and goings finishes her breakfast. When Cross inquires about her plans for the day, she responds amiably, "Well since Esker has abandoned me to my own devices...I really have no plans. Not speaking the local tongue rather limits my prospects." She drains her glass and arches a blonde brow, "Are you offering some suggestions? Proposing some trouble to get into? Challenging me to a arm wrestling match?" She raises her empty glass, "We could start with a refill."
OOC: Sorry been dealing with being overworked and having a lot of stuff to deal with lately (as COVID came a knocking and my fridge and furnace decided to each give up the ghost in the space of a few days). I can focus on other things now.

The Broken Wheel: (Cross and Iscind)
The white-haired Elf grins, the large raven perched beside him tilting its head curiously. I've only picked up a little of the language myself, but most shops will have someone that can speak Elven. He chuckles at the arm-wrestling. I'll go ahead and forfeit now, save some time. Though I do enjoy games of chance or skill. He orders another round for them. But I am curious about you newcomers. Your friend said you were scouts, but that seems really only a scratch of the surface.

no worries. Oof, i feel your pain, my AC units both crapped out recently

Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
Mira heads inside after the Kender, if only to try and keep him out of trouble as she does a quick scan for Sabrina again, this time finding herself in the bar. Expecting to be at least slightly recognised and perhaps not in a good way she hangs back slightly.

The Broken Wheel: (Cross, Iscind and Karl)
The human knight returns from tending his horse to find most of the group have scattered as usual; and only the white-haired Elf Cross and the newly arrived Blonde scout Iscind remain. Ah, Cross smiles at his return, And of course there is the possibility of a sparring session. he says, recalling the conversation from the night before

"I find myself not surprised, what happened out there, we should remain safe and I suggest in at least pairs. Meaning someone should keep an eye on the dear Kender." Karl explains calmly.
