Pyros pulls out his tools and concentrates on the crown. the wire had to be taken care of but without letting it slip free. Carefully he uses a thin hooked metal rod to catch the wire and begin to wond it around the metlal tool. He then unwinds it from the crown itself, freeing the object...

Wiping the sweat from his brow, with a huge grin he will don the hat, and hobble back to the group.

Merrick stares at the object, transfixed. Is... is this it? Does that mean... we can go...?

[Jenara]

"This place is making me so suspicious..." Mira decides as she takes a look at the crown.. trying to detect what sort of metal it is.

Mira takes the crown, which is surprisingly light. Her cantrip fizzles with a flash and a pop, but up close she inspects the large gems... they appear to be nothing more than colored glass. The surface does appear to be gold, but the object is so light it must be only a thin plating over something much lighter... probably tin, which was common in fake jewelry.

"This." She states handing it back to the Kender. "Is not the Crown we are looking for." Sighing to herself she considers their next move.

[Nocturno]

Pyros will take the crown gladly and put it back on.

He has a big grin knowing he defeated a trap to gain his new crown.

[Jenara]

"It suits you. Maybe you shouldn't wear it all the time, someone might try and borrow it." Grinning she gives the others a questioning look, "So what now?"

[Jerrard]

"This is what you seek? A Crown like this, only one that is not made of lead.. you all weave an interesting tale. If I were not here in this place I would dispute it. Please, show us where you found your treasure." The Knight motions to the Kender.

[Nocturno]

Pyros immediately hops over to the pedestal to show off his disarming skills.

The trap remains disarmed but the pedestal appears not to be fastened to the floor, only resting upon it

"Does that set up with the fake crown to distract from something else," Jerry ponders quietly to Merrick.

[TristenC]

Well, the fake crown was trapped. It seems likely that was the distraction intended. he muses. It is always possible there was more it intended to distract from.
