Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
"Have they?" Daphne answers, wide eyed. "Oh my. that will upset Lady Velrosa."
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Vic will make small talk while the others explore.
"It must have been quite the sight to see a floating castle. Did everyone go the same direction?"

"Some died when the rocks came down. Paul, one of the gaurds, said it would have been quick and painless," she answers. "When the bridge was smashed those of us in the village, all who could, came here."
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
"How awful. We will try and get as many folks home as we can. Did you see which way the others were taken?"
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
"I can't see in the dark, I'm sorry, no," answers Daphne. She's looking distinctly downcast although trying to be brave.

Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
"Vic, I'm going after Unbar. He has been gone a while."
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
"OK. I will be here with the lady."
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
"Oh my, thank you. You're totally my hero. May Lady Velrosa reward you!" says Daphne, not quite swooning. She wobbles a bit and, tottering, holds on to Vic's arm.
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Vic pats her hand. "While a bonus, I do not need a reward for doing the right thing."
He strains his eyes.
"Hey Val, what is going on down there?"
He strains his eyes.
"Hey Val, what is going on down there?"
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Val wanders along looking for his dwarven colleague. At first there's of sign of the squat fellow and then, rounding a corner a dodgy looking mound near the stone wall moves. Heart skipping a beat, Val realises it's Unbar and that he's just shined the lantern full in the kneeling dwarf's just-upraised head and eyes. He's holding something cylindrical in one hand and something too small for Val to see in the other hand..
Unbar realises that he isn't actually blind, just blinded by the lantern light.
"Are you alright? What happened?" asks the mountain man. "What's that you're holding?"
A voice, Vic's voice, echoes from behind them, "Hey Val, what is going on down there?"
What next?

Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
"Found a stash. Only the flask and a case. We can check them out later" He tucks the flask and case away and continues "I haven't gone beyond here. You want to head back and grab the others or shall we head on a bit farther?"
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Still clinging to Vic's arm Daphne shivers, not that it's particularly cold in here. "Oh, well, you're still my hero. But may a lady ask, 'How does standing here help find the other villagers?' Wouldn't we be better standing outside where we can feel the good, honest sun? May Lathander grant us His blessings!"

Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Unbar will head another 30ft down the tunnel.
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Unbar is still in the dim zone of the torchlight which looks like gray daylight. The tunnel continues for another fifty foot, more or less straight, before a slight twist takes any contiuance of the tunnel out of sight. But there is something up ahead..
Moving* up another fifty foot, and notes change in the rock. Soem of it once was much deeper in the depths of Faerun, having been pushed up towards the surface by titanic forces in ages past. Thepassagemway splits here, one continuing in a more northeasterly direction and the other, in the older rock, a slide that curves out of side westwards, anlged down at perhaps thirty degrees. It has three foot headroom.
======
I've taken a small liberty and moved Unbar forwards to the junction.
But i you would liek to roll a 1d12 for me, please.
