Fenrir replies Only the small flock of two legs you can see chase the hard-footed four-leg.
Mira readies her crossbow, Artanis his own bow, and Pyros his hoopak. Adrestia and Pytor move as one to the fore with Sir Karl, weapons out. Elsa stands beside them, mace and shield ready, Adran, Jerry and Merrick behind and to the far back Tarlyn stares wild eyed at the figures as she clutches her dagger. Bayard reaches the party and circles around behind to move up near the Knight but just behind the man, apparently waiting to see if Sir Karl would prefer to ride into battle than stand.
The figures close to about 30 feet away and details start to come into focus. Their skin appears grey and clammy, their bodies lithe and dexterous, and their faces full of rage and malice.

Anyone who wrote they had a ranged weapon ready (Mira, Pyros, Art) may make 1 ranged weapon attack with their stated weapon if they so choose. The figures make no sign of slowing or parleying at this time.
If the plan is to fight, lets get Actions and Initiative for round 1

Jerry says, "I think these are a rare type of undead. Be wary of their touch. It may transmit a disease that turns one into such as they!" She equips her mace and moves protectively towards Merrick.

"Lady. Bayard will protect you." Karl grasps the woman by the waist, respectfully and raises her to mount the Horse. "He is a trained Warhorse, he will see that you are safe."

Art, Mira and Pyros let a single shot fly. The arrow and bolt miss, but the sling bullet strikes the running humanoid square in the face with a loud crack! The man, or creature, is completely unphased by it!

Pyros undaunted and probably not understanding no effect fires another shot.

Adran, Cross and Jerry each begin to prepare to meet the rapidly approaching assailants with Magical Force. Cross fires first, just before two of the creatures close into melee. A pair of glowing bolts of force slam into one of the creatures but don't seem to phase it in the least! Seconds later both Jerry and Adran's spells land, with a similar lack of results.
The creatures close with the readied front line and a vicious, scrambling melee ensues. Only Adrestia manages to connect, stabbing into the creature, but even the magical rapier seems not to penetrate as deeply as it should! Pyros bends back his planted hoopak to fire at the thing fighting Sir Karl. His grip on the mounted pole slips and he falls to the hard baked clay canyon floor in a heap

[So far, the creatures are unaffected by mundane sling bullets and magic missile. Even Adrestia's magical rapier only did half damage. The wound Adrestia made does not bleed, so Jerry can probably tell these are undead for certain but likely a very rare variant.]

Pyros loads up a "pretty sling bullet" and lets 'er rip.
Cross tries to conjure up a swarm of pests. He will centre it behind the undeads to catch them, but not the party in their current positions.
