Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
What did Val perceive?
Also he wants to pick up the bow and any arrows remaining. Is it a long bow or short bow?

Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Val gets a better view of the village but doesn't see any more goblins and cannot see who is ringing the temple's bell.
Vic and Unbar join up, conversing in low tones, but neither seeing any more foes. Vic points out Unbar in the tower, obviously looking around, and Isaril seeing to his own wounds.
Vic suggests, "Let's gather up, then explore the two buildings we have cleared."
Isaril indicates with a thumbs up that he's ok. Meanwhile Woody grabs the headless goblins remaining five arrows, uncertain whether it's worth the effort of carrying the poorly made short bow. [-1 to hit & dam] Taking the scavenged arrows with him, Val rejoins the other three. With some translation it's clear that Isaril would welcome a Cure Wounds spell but can continue without if need be. Isaril offers a handful of Ggoodberries if any of the group have minor wounds. Unless consumed, the magic in the berries will fade in a few hours.

In what sequence will which buildings will be explored?

Each Goodberry can restore 1HP

"Let's go gather a big friend. Then come back to check out the backpack. Can you help our ward with the wounds?"
Vic will start towards Isaril, and then move off to the tower.

Val will not take the bow. He will climb down the tower to join his new friends.
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Vic and Unbar join Isaril.
With Vic translating, Isaril accepts Unbar's offer of Cure Wounds, "Tell the stout one, 'I thank him'."
While Unbar casts Cure Wounds, Vic heads off to gather up Val but only gets halfway to the tower as the human reappears.
Together once more, unless anyone persuades Vic to go somewhere else first, the group enter the single-story stone building. [#9]
Mounted above this building's entrance is a circular blue shield emblazoned with a stylized golden lion.
The trading post consists of a twenty foot square store with a trading counter and a ten by twenty foot side room containing storage shelves and a cot.
Almost everything has been pulled off the shelves and many bottles, lamps, ink jars, spice jars, and crockery lay broken on the floor.
Nevertheless, many items remain intact!
The backpack contains: a flute, two broken hen eggs, a dart, four foot of rope, a stone mouse, a handaxe and a waterskin
What next?
======
Unbar can either use average Cure Wounds value (heals 7HP) or else roll it.
Many items (PHB, <10gps each) can be found in the store if searched for.

"Let's go see what is making that bell ring. "
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
"I think we should continue to use the cover of the bell. It is likely drowning out most of our combat noise."
Vic thinks for a second.
"Let's see if we can use that field to get to that building." He points in the direction of 4D.

Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Leaving the backpack and stone building's contents behind, the adventuring band cross the turnip and potato field to approach one of the single-story wooden buildings. [#4D]
In the field is a five foot diameter crater at the bottom of which is a chunk of stone about five foot across.
A very crushed humanoid corpse can be seen protruding from beneath the stone.
The cottage door hangs open. It looks as though the ten foo square front room serves as a kitchen and dining area and leads to a ten foot by fifteen foot sleeping area.
Both appear to have been have been very thoroughly ransacked and left in a shambles.
What next?
======
If anyone wants to take anything from the stone building without significant loss of time then your choice of Perception or Survival skill check, DC10.
If you tell me what is desired then I'll tel you what's found.

Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
OOC - I have marked off on Unbar's character sheet that he used 1 spell slot. That is for the 7 point cure wounds to Isaril.
"I only have one more of those. Let's try to be careful folks." Anyone looking at him can tell he is hurting right now but willing to push onward.
He has no interest in looting the trading post.
Glancing at the craters and the rocks at their bottoms, Unbar comments "Siege weapons. I can't think of anything else capable of this."

Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
Isaril thanks Unbar for the healing spell and, with Vic still translating, offers the cleric a handful of Good errors (explaining that they have modest restorative properties. [1HP per. berry. Five offered.]
There's time enough to eat the berries while Val rummages in the store.

Unbar thanks the wild looking elf and munches away until all the berries are gone.

"Shall we investigate another building." Pointing to building 7 on the map.
Re: Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country
"After we are done here, we should use the cover of it and check out these" He points to 4e 4f and the tower nearest them.
