[some timw in the middle of the night...]
Zipping past the darkened trees, ducking under branches and weaving past trunks and other obstructions; the familiar makes its way back to the other and begins cawing frantically! Back at camp, Artanis and Adrastia begin waking the others, starting with Jerry and Mira. The racket from the Avian is enough to rouse Elsa, Merrick and Adran from their slumber.
Something's wrong! Artanis calls to those waking. Cross and Pyros went to investigate some people walking through the woods. He gestures with his bow in one direction. Those who listen can hear Pyros calling out Nobody goes anywhere alone. he advises, looking to Adrastia to come with him towards the sound of the Kender.
[Actions R1?]
[Con check from Pytor please. If Mel is still out for a bit, I can do the rolls for him or if he wants someone to proxy. if he passes, he can act normally this round]

Jerry buckles on her belt while forcing her feet, one.at a time, into her boots, nodding a thanks to her waker and muttering an acknowledging "ok" to Mira.

[Wiz Kid hasn’t logged in for over a month so Adran will be on autopilot
I keep forgetting Mel is out for a bit, so I’ll do his con and init rolls to keep things… rolling…]
Mira calls for Adrestia and Pytor to stay by her, but Adrestia hesitates; obviously prepared to go with Artanis. I’ll stick with you Mira, let them go ahead. Elsa calls out. I want to help everyone before we go rushing off anyway. Knowing time is of the essence, the dusky hued fighter nods and prepares to rush off into the night with Artanis to aid their ally. Merrick, noticing Pytor still asleep in some sort of fever-sweat, quickly jostles him awake. The gypsy looks around confusedly, before instinctively rising and grabbing his new silver-faced Warhammer.
Jerry quickly prepares and joins the others along with Merrick. Suddenly Fenrir squawks loudly and falters, nearly falling to the ground; landing heavily barely under his own control. That’s a very bad sign! Something must have happened to Cross! Merrick says, looking into the woods nervously.
Adran rises as well, taking a moment to prepare his bow before joining the growing cluster. Elsa joins the group and says a quiet prayer, Yondalla, provider and mother-protector; shield us from harm. A sparkling golden light settles on the whole of the group like cloud of flickering fireflies. Where the sparks land on the others a small warm glow seeps into them before it dissipates. Alright. Let’s do this! the pretty Halfling says, face a mask of determination. Fenrir flutters and takes off again, though obviously weakened, begins to lead the way into the forest.
Artanis and Adrastia nod to each other and begin sprinting into the woods to try to close the gap while the others are organizing. Mira takes a step away from camp, leading the way.
Meanwhile… in the thick of the forest…
Cross prepares to turn himself invisible, beginning to call forth the threads of magic. Before he can complete even the first words, the savage creature in front of him leaps forward and clamps down hard with filthy black teeth onto his neck and shoulder! Violet eyes go wide as pain erupts from his body. Elven legs give way and he hangs loosely from the massive beast’s muzzle. With a high-pitch screeching laughter-like bark, the Jackal-creature drops him unceremoniously to the forest floor. In his mind he feels Fenrir reel from the blow, his last thoughts the frantic echo of his familiar as consciousness drains out of him like his lifeblood…
Pyros taunts his attacker as only a Kender can, ” Mother of Pearl, you are an ugly one! And I thought those wolves were bad!" The Jackal man seems surprised, but grins and yips a cruel laugh like the short, sharp barks of a dog. The small rogue slowly backs away out of the creatures reach before turning and running as fast as his little legs can carry him. Dropping to all fours, the monstrous canine pursues him; lunging at the small folk! Jagged black teeth pierce through the Kender’s leather armor, stabbing into his shoulder and chest! Releasing him, it prepares to bite again; that same hideous laugh-bark issuing from a bloody muzzle beneath red-orange eyes full of cruelty and hunger.
Suddenly, the sound of people crashing through the forest reaches Pyros! Not ten feet away, Artanis and Adrastia emerge into view; swords glowing faintly with magical light. Pyros! Get back to the others. Where is Cross?!
As if in answer, a female Jackal creature appears in the woods behind Pyros about 30 feet away; a broad fan of blood marking her mouth, neck and chest. Blood very clearly not her own.

[Adran, Adrastia, Artanis, Elsa, Fenrir, Jerry, Merrick, Mira, Pytor have a +1 to hit, damage and saves until the end of Round 6]
[Cross is DOWN and will lose 1 hp/round until stabilized. Nocturno, make a con check for Cross at 1/2 his normal rate next round. If he passes, he self-stabilizes. He gets another check at 1/4 normal on round 5. Death occurs at -10]
[The camp is still quite a ways away from the action, and the forest is thick, only reliably giving about 30 feet of vision. Terrain movement costs 3x as much in this area. When stating actions for the next round, please include what the char would do if an enemy becomes visible to help expedite things, and make any relevant rolls.]

Are they big enough that I'm using 1d3 for damage?

Ignoring the calm warriors Pyros pulls his iron dagger and uses the torch as a club! After meeting up with them, and allowing them to swat at the assailant.
Torch and Dagger DW: [1d20] = 15 [1d20] = 13 [1d6] = 4 [1d4] = 4
