"Survival is a base instinct, or so I was told." Mira answers, "It got me here, along with most of the others. We are looking for a Vampire. If you know what one of those are?" She resists the urge to stoke the Elven woman's hair.
"The songbird is not the eagle and the eagle is not the songbird. Mira, you cannot be everything to everyone - if you do, you end up exhausted, slumped against a wall, in the room of someone you don't particularly like." - Artanis Auir

"A Vampire?" She gasps, "I have heard Stories, the Elves of Celene tell of one who Haunts the Demon slayer. A foul beast." She tries to move, "I'm a Tracker, I could help. It might help, I need to wash my soul of the bad deeds, so the Forest will accept me once more."

“A galad ves, nîn fëa lanta an gwelad lîn, mellyn nîn.” she calls out to the approaching Elves, her words are musical, so much like the words Merrick knows but with flair.

(“O forest fair, my spirit rises at the sight of you, my kin.”)

(I've been told that Cross will understand her words as well)

Merrick glances at Jerry quizzically and she nods and gestures towards herself. With a flick of his fingers he indicates agreement. The Mystran steps forwards, smiles and replies to the newcomer in slightly accented elven, "Suilad, randír. Im na‑Jerry. I ardh hen no dôr a garo randir, an boe sui mín. Man i‑est lín? A naeg le?"

Cross perks up at the language, and the new voice.
To Fenrir. Only one?

“Eneth nîn… Althiriel Moonshadow. Osto na Vesve-taur. Naer… vaer gwannas.” she answers quickly and rapidly, it's obvious that only Mira holding her is keeping her upright. She has wounds on her body and a large claw mark over her back.

“My name… Althiriel Moonshadow. I come from the Vesve Forest. I was… badly wounded.”

Merrick replies (in elven), "I Merrick. It is my pleasure to be graced with meeting you. Your voice reminds me of summer springwater." He shifts languages, (to Harmonia), "I am native to this place, Harmonia, althouth my town is a little further away. Do you undertand these words?"

The newcomer seems hesitant at first, injured and wary; but friendliness and some familiarity among the strangers serve to ease the tensions. There are a pair of humans whose garb and gear match that of trackers or woods-folk (Esker and Iscind), the white-haired Grey-Elf man (Cross), and a pair of half elves (Jerry and Merrick). Aside from those the mustached warrior, redheaded woman with a lute across her back, pair of halflings and a blond human warrior with a long bladed polearm. Althiriel reaches out in her mind with 'the song' but only muffled and garbled noises can be teased out. At times they sound like voices, like those of her fallen friends... but that must be a trick of the weariness and trauma... yes? Until, with a sense of shock and urgency, something like the voice of Serielye cries out as if smothered beneath a wool blanket before it is stifled...

Jerry consults with Merrick regarding the search, but he shakes his head. I too have found nothing suspicious about this place. The rundown nature and the rodents seem from simple neglect over the years and virtue of being mostly isolated from people to care for it. It seems we can cross this area off our lists. As they approach, Jerry takes the lead, speaking back in Elven. At the opportunity, Merrick chimes in with the local language as well. The sounds of the new language are akin to Elven, though he speaks with an odd flatness,
[Speaking any version of Elven gives a base 10% chance to understand Harmonian]

Iscind introduces herself and Esker, and can tell that the Elven woman's gear and manners match with her claim as a tracker.

Elsa, the blonde halfling woman in blue and white robes over chainmail, approaches with a kind smile and a look of concern for Althiriel's injuries. Speaking a prayer of healing her hand glows and she touches the injured womans arm briefly. The golden light washes over her, closing most of her wounds. After another shorter prayer, all of her injuries are gone, though the weariness remains.

[Yes, Merrick speaks common. His Elven is a flat a-tonal version of High-Elven from Sithicus (which is from Krynn) but for game purposes all Elven racial dialects are the same across planets. So Grey Elven from Greyhawk and from Krynn (like Cross speaks) are the same. Merrick speaks Harmonian at something better than 95%, but not perfectly fluent. He has been in Kartakass learning Harmonian from his cousin Serath for about 3 months before meeting the party. So he is correct that he is native to Ravenloft and the nearby country]

"So to the Watermill?" Mira asks with a worried expression expressiom, "I know you thought this was the place, you had more of a clue than we did.." she turns to the Guards without letting the new Elven woman go.

"It looks like this isn't the place, the creature is quite intelligent, but we have to find it lair, we are moving on."

She turns to Althriel, "It's best if we stick together. I'll warn you there aren't many Elves in this place, I have a little sway here but..." She sighs and helps the woman stand. "I assume you can use those blades?"

"Thank you all." She places her hand to her chest once more, "I am a stranger, lost. That is not something I am used to feeling." She attempts to stand. "Please thank your goddess. She is most kind."

"Your words are, strange. I caught what I think was 'town' but that's all. I don't understand really." She answers Merrick, "Sorry."

"I will join you. If you will have me?" She asks softly, "You are all most kind."

(It's obvious to the group she has had an upper class upbringing, but her clothing belongs in a forest.)

"Sabrina is going to love you." Mira adds in agreement with Jerry.

"Indeed. Here we follow Lady Mira's lead." Karl explains.

"For now." She glances at the two Rangers.

"Greetings and all that." Pyros says as he walks past, starting to check out the way to the mill.
"Maybe you tracking folk can help finish my lessons in tracking that Artanis started!"

Cross stands quiet and awkward as usual. Especially why using his mental link to Fenrir.
"This one is friendly. Any others you can see?"
