Haldrake nods and heads back to the bar. Merrick turns towards the door. It seems there is little else to do tonight except rest so we can resume our hunt tomorrow... Shall we?

"Agreed that would be most acceptable." Karl answers, pulling his cloak around him as if it would protect him from the feelings of loss he suffered. He places a hand on Mira's shoulderz squeezing it softly. "Young Sabrina will be waiting for you." He adds in a kindly tone.

"Master Airand there is little we can do. Please return with us, you had my word this thing would be brought to justice and I do not break my word." Except to Lady Esten he thinks to himself as he steers them back to the inn.

Mira sighs and slumps her shoulders, all that killing, all that mayhem for what? And now Ontash, dear kind Ontash too..

"I suppose we should." Deflated she turns back, head hung low as she walks in silence.

"Jerry should we walk the grounds? Maybe we can find a place it could be hiding?"

Airand considers Sir Karl's words but shakes his head. If you folk are returning for the night, I have other people I need to check on tonight... Azais will be quite upset with my involvwment, but at least I can tell her we have that... thing on the run..

The Kender asks about walking the grounds, Jerry nods, Well, we do have yet to check the Barn.... As Pyros runs along he realizes his leg is moving slightly easier than before. Where as lately it has felt like a sleeping limb waking, now it only feels stiff as if he had worked it too hard for too long.

"Please stay safe young man." He leads him away from the others a second. "We would be most distraught if anything happens to you." He smiles weakly. "The Barn?" He asks turning back to the others.

Mira's attention returns as the Barn is mentioned. Sabrina was safe.. "Then let's check the barn. Somehow it seems beneath such a creature to exist in a barn " she sighs and wishes for the hundredth time Elsa had joined them.

"Thanks Jerry." She pats the other womans arm.

The group continues towards the barn, joined to the tavern-side of the inn by a narrow awning. Carefully Jerry opens the wide doors, shield ready. The musky scent of damp straw, horse and old wood immediately greets the group.

On either side of this area are four, two-stalled stables equipped with feeding troughs. A bin of hay stands in the northwest corner of the room while a ladder running to the upper loft rests in the northeast. There is something unusual about this place, but you cannot seem to put your finger on it. The sounds of horses shifting and snorting in the stalls can be heard...

Saying outloud what everyone is thinking.
"Weird. Why does it feel like that."
===========================================
Did we come in from the Covered door, the big double doors by the cart, or the smaller double doors at the bottom right of the picture?
========================================
Pyros heads to the ladder and starts to climb.

"There is a foul air to this place. Far too foul to be natural." Karl physically shudders in his armour, holding his sword and shield closely to his body as he steps inside.

He walks towards the centre, his attention fixed on anything that could appear as he walks towards the arch.

"Stay together." She warns, notching a bolt into her crossbow, choosing a silver one just In case. "Pyros, be careful. Please." She urges, moving to cover the Kender.

[The party entered through big double doors at the bottom of the image near the horse stalls]

Pyros and Sir Karl advance towards the arch; the kender climbing the worn wooden ladder as the Knight examines the space beyond the arch.

The door to the west has a hefty lock in place and the double doors north are currently barred from the inside. A stately black coach with open sides stands in the area beyond the arch. A fine, rust colored powder covers the floor and is most heavy near the coach itself. In the far corner is a large, unmarked barrel with several rust colored rags in a pile beside it. There is a vaguely familiar, bitter scent in the air here, but it is masked by the natural odors of a stable that makes it difficult to sort out.

The Kender ascends to find the loft area filled by a
large mound of hay in the center. Several openings exist on the floor near the east and west walls, for distributing it down to the stalls. A pitchfork is stuck into the hay nearby. Several sacks of grain are lined up against the north wall.

Karl keeps his sword ready facing the coach, is there any way anything could be hidden in it?

"Hmmm." The Knight ponders everything, he longed to rub his mustache but he maintains the shield.
