Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2

A classic 2e Puzzle dungeon for High Level characters
Beware, this one is substantially longer and (IMHO) even harder than the legendary Tomb of Horrors!

We could attempt to destroy the block, or bypass it in some way. Allikhain muses

Jag grings wryly.
"I have disintegrate ready."

[From the ooc channel]

Ke'Sha sends Mourkol to explore northward beyond the massive block. He grimaces at being ordered about, but moves into the block and out of sight. After several tense moments he returns, distaste twisting his mouth amid the unveiled hatred of the living party members. The block is very thick, probably close to 10 feet. There is a large room beyond, and in it hangs the rotting corpse of a dragon.

He watches his forced 'master' with abject scorn, and when the halfling seems about to speak again the spectre cuts him off. You can't move the block because there is a berm of stone, seemingly made from the very floor itself, the full width of the block.

Mistress Allikhain, would you mind bringing that green snake-ring over? It might help with the opening of the stone block here.

Stephen directs his thoughts to Ke'Sha. <If that dragon skeleton comes 'alive', what are your chances of controlling it? And can you get your minion to give us a general description on the room? Size, shape, general contents?>

<If it won't come alive, maybe I can try brining him alive... And of course there is possibility I'll be able to control it. All in the favor of the Lord of the undead.> Ke'Sha smiles at Mourkul, "You are most useful, can you... PLEASE... give more detailed description of the room? Also, have you seen any trigger that may remove this berm of stone or generally just open it from the other side?" He then looks at the cieling, considering if they missed something there.

“You should truly think about what you are considering. Living dragons are difficult enough to deal with. Master Jag has difficulty in some areas here so far and trying to drag an undead dragon through this place is another headache we don’t need. This place is mad enough.” Axid cautions.
You are talkin' to the holy symbol wearing,
Ruby ring wearing, kiss stealing; Woo!
Praying/healing, beholder riding, griffin flying
Son of a blowgun, and I'm having a hard time holding these Aboleth shoes down! WOO!

"I don't think we should animate it, if it is truly dead. Maybe speak with it?" Jag says a bit concerned.

"How interesting would that be. We wouldn't need to check for traps, it could set them off for us."

Allikhain produces the green serpent ring and presents it to Stephen while she inspects the wall, but finds no obvious way for the two to interact.

Mourkol glowers at the Athasian halfling but answers. The room is roughly 30 feet deep and 40 wide. There is one door each on the East and West walls. There is nothing in the room but the corpse. When questioned about the berm he heaves a wholly unnecessary long-suffering sigh The berm itself is one with the floor. I saw no way to remove it but to destroy or re-shape it.

Allikhain considers the new information, If the berm cannot be moved then perhaps we can destroy the block as Jag suggests. I also have a single instance of Disintegration prepared.

What's the ceiling height? Lighting?

Tristan, are you using standard 2E dragon sizes? So that a Great Wyrm red dragon is around 300 feet long? Or are they closer to 1E sizes, where the largest Reds are around 50 feet long?

Jag is Nocturno's half-elf/half-orc. Did you mean Landro, the 9-foot-tall firbolg?

Jag snaps his fingers.
"What if the block was meant to come this way?"
