Does Jerry recognize the description as any particular form of undead?

no. the description does not fit any creature she is aware of; undead or otherwise

When Merrick comes close to Jerry (before the Invisibility spell is cast), she whispers two words to him, "Love you." and reinforces it with her best, bravest smile.

Climbing checks (after appropriate signal(s) from Pyros):
Climb 95% [1d100] = 9
Climb 95% [1d100] = 33
Climb 95% [1d100] = 76
Climb 95% [1d100] = 24

Did Jerry see what the thing is on the cliffs to the bottom right?
(She did have a look around before)

Righto, thanks for that; I've done that before too. Was just checking Jerry wasn't missing something of which she should have been aware.

If the attempts to crack open the raven dont work then iot's probably rely on the Undead Hunter background for some sort of inspiration about undead & their lairs.

ok, just didnt know if she would follow by rope or not (which is visible so she has direction at least). she should be able to determine how far down he goes by watching it

Sure.
I know he's going to Tier 1 but Jerry doesn't.
That why Jerry asked (IG).
Wait/watch seems especially appropriate with an unpredictable fellow like Pyros.
Ourt of interest, can jerry assess whether the skeletons are likely to be able to climb up each step? or down? And what would be the effect on combat between two tiers?

i know... that's why i specifically said she should be able to determine how far he goes by watching the rope. it was about more than direction. it wont matter next round anyway as he is about to become visible.

the skeletons seem to be able to lower themselves down as they have done in previous rounds. there is no obvious way for them to ascend... except for, perhaps, the rope.

as far as combat between tiers; having the high ground will give a creature +1 to hit against something below it. the party was far enough away (mid or long range for the spears) that it didnt apply in my estimation. Obviously something ranged or with a 10' reach would be needed to attack across tiers
