Kendra continues to think about all the good she could possibly do if she agrees to this proposition, and considering Tethys seems to think so highly of her it was possible for her to actually accomplish something. "Uh," she says, seemingly still a little shocked by all of this. "I'll clean up, and meet you in a few," she finally says.

Once Tethys leaves, Kendra takes some time to clean herself up and change into presentable clothing before she heads to the ballroom as requested.

Haahqae (Masked Dragon Inn)
After verifying he wasn't being followed, at least as far as he could tell, Haahqae knocks on the door of room 6. A young human male opens the door, with blond hair and a square jaw. He doesn't look familiar at all to Haahqae. Looking the gnome up and down, the man says nothing but waits expectantly. After Haahqae gives the password, he glances down the hall to make sure nobody is there, then moves to let Haahqae enter.

Aside from the man, there's a woman here, too. Haahqae actually does recognize her. She's the woman with the eye-patch that he's seen before at the Steel Tankard. "Have a seat," she says, gesturing to a chair. She is sitting on the bed. The man closes the door and stands guard by it. "A mutual friend says we can trust you and that you might be an asset. And Miriam says you are no friend to the Dragonarmy."

"It's alright," the man says. He pulls out a pendant from under his shirt, revealing an emblem that resembles a platinum dragon. "We cannot be overheard here." The dragon glows slightly with an unnatural light. "Not even by the Dragon Queen."

Kendra Synclair (Prefect's Mansion)
After cleaning up and getting dressed, Kendra reports to the ballroom. When not in use for actual balls, it's a big, wide open space often used for large meetings. The prefect is there, sitting at a desk that had been brought in just for him. His elderly butler stands nearby him.

However, there are others present, as well. Tulbas is there, in his black robes, along with his master, Magnus. There's also a woman wearing the black robes and hood of the Takhisian clergy. Her hood is up, concealing her face. There's a half-ogre, a dwarven woman, and two human women, as well. Kendra vaguely recognizes them as the four who successfully captured that dwarven cleric she executed.

"Ah, excellent," Tethys says, getting to his feet. "We are all here."

Tulbas Erogund (Prefect's Mansion)
Magnus and Tulbas, in their night black robes, head for the Prefect's mansion. After being let inside by the elderly butler, he escorts them to the ball room area. When not in use for actual balls, it's a big, wide open space used for meetings. The prefect is there, sitting at a desk that had been brought in for him. His butler walks around the desk to stand by his side.

However, there are others present, as well. Kendra is there, wearing her black studded leather armor with the Dragon Queen's five headed dragon emblem emblazoned on the chest. There's also a woman wearing the black robes and hood of the Takhisian clergy. Her hood is up, concealing her face. What's more, Burzan, Raena, Yvette and Xyleena are present.

"Ah, excellent," Tethys says, getting to his feet. "We are all here."

Kendra looks at those gathered, and gives a small nod to Tulbas as he is really the only one that she knows. "If you don't mind, sir, what is all of this about?" she asks. Despite the fact that Tethys has asked her to marry him, she knows to be respectful in front of others at this point. She hasn't agreed yet. Though, she is curious as to what Tethys is up to to have gathered so many people together.

Grubnick, still lost in thought, takes a moment to realize he is being hailed. Staring at the dwarf for several lingering seconds, he finally stands and trudges over. Hey... he begins, trailing off immediately; unsure what to say. The goblin remains standing for the moment.

The juggler who enters in the room and takes a seat as offered is a very different one as the gnome who skipped into town all those months agao; back when the world was a warmer place. This one carefully scans the room and the occupants and thinks for a second before he speaks. No attempt at a joke, all joy in his stride drained out, replaced with determination.

“So you have your information that you can trust me, but all I know about you is that you sent me a note and that you know Miriam. I've had one too many bad experiences before, how do I know that I can trust you?”

(OoC: Haahqae wants to do a spellcraft and a knowledge history check on the pendant. Would he have heard about these pendants being used in the time-period he studied or can he sense a spell attached to or being cast by the pendant?)

Haahqae (Masked Dragon Inn)
"I can't offer you any assurances," the woman says. "But obviously we are taking a serious risk here by meeting with you. It would be easy for you to turn us in to the army for a nice profit. So when it comes to trust, you're in a better position than we."

Haahqae recognizes the pendant from his studies on the rise and fall of Istar. The Platinum Dragon is the symbol of Paladine, the brother of Takhisis and her greatest enemy. This heavily implies that this man, whoever he is, is a cleric of Paladine.

Although Haahqae is certain in his belief that arcane sorcery and divine prayer are the exact same thing, he does not recognize whatever spell the man is using. It's not like anything he's ever heard of or studied before, and it doesn't seem to require any additional components beyond the icon itself.

Kendra and Tulbas (Prefect's Mansion)
Tethys nods. "So glad you asked. All of you have been called upon to form a special team; you are all the best of the best and I've found I can rely on you all when I need to. Your team's objective is to root out the rebel forces in this city once and for all." He balls up his fist for emphasis.

"Yes, so it appears. You can be sure your secret is safe with me."

That object there is a symbol that they're clerics of Paladine. Once I was looking for clerics to turn in because the rewards did look good, but I gave that up when the army kidnapped Ismene. Besides, I was always looking for evil clerics to help balance things out a bit; Paladine is supposedly a good deity so I wouldn't have been too interested in turning them in.

"It is true; I am no friend of the dragonarmy. Since they're occupation they've been steadily messing things up; from their long list of stupid laws to kidnapping someone I cared about. I have struck back at them before, but nothing I can do can make up for what they've done to this city, and to me."

Kendra rubs at her forehead for a moment as she hasn't heard any news about rebels, and Tethys certainly hasn't told her any news about rebels, so she isn't really sure where this is coming from. "I'm sorry, sir," she says. "But in my duties the past few months, I haven't heard any news of rebels. Did you recently come across some news that I haven't heard?"

"Not alone, no, we are all powerless against the occupation," the woman agrees. "But if we work together, we can do some real damage to them. We have gathered a few other like-minded folk and joined forces to fight the occupation in the shadows. We call ourselves the resistance."

Kendra and Tulbas (Prefect's Mansion)
"I have," Tethys answers. "I am not ready to reveal my source just yet, but I have learned a great deal in the past week. And you all will be my strike team, to wipe them out once and for all."

Wordlessly the goblin remains standing. He hadn't done much the last several weeks but exist, and that only barely. The dwarf was an odd reminder that the world had gone on somehow while he himself hadn't really... finished coping... surely something had happened... So, what's new with you?

[Sorry, Grubnick is still pretty burnt-out (pun intended) about the whole thing.]

"I got out of bed. Not done that much myself apart from sleep for the last eight weeks, but all my nicks and scrapes have mended. Think I've been sleeping too much as I haven't slept so well the past few nights. I've got no real plans just now. Anyway, how about you ? Anything much I can help with?" answers Shima.

Tulbas nods to Kendra and gives a little smile but his eye could have fire lightning when he looks at Burzan and Raena, and he is also not pleased to see Yvette and Xyleena. He could accept the lost money and their treachery, but Burzan and Raena tried to murdered them all! He shot s glimpse at Magnus to see his reaction.
Evil forces indeed turn against each other and wipe themselves up. It is so weird the dragon army swarmed over the continent with such great success. Luckily he was not like that. He turned black and renegade Silvanesti, but he was trustworthy and cared for his friends.
Putting aside his thoughts of revenge, he listen to the words exchange between Kendra and Tethys. It is pretty obvious she speaks to him at eye level. Interesting... she became really powerful inside the army ranks... after registering this info in his mind, he turns his attention to another curiosity... It is hard to ignore Tethys sentence about trusting each one of them including himself. How could it be? Obviously Tethys was referring to Magnus and Tulbas just get along as his apprentice. He then waits for Tethys to explain their mission.

Kendra purses her lips together as she doesn't like the idea of not knowing who gave Tethys this information. From a guard standpoint, she isn't sure the source can be trusted. "Well, I'm sure all of us are on board to stop the rebels in the city then," she finally says. "Where are we to start?"

Tulbas is eager to say, 'Maybe some introduction to our partners is needed?' but he knows better not to speak before his master does.
