"Well, you said he was dwarven, so I assumed he followed a dwarven deity," replies Shima. "Her lot are, frankly, a nasty bunch. Untrustworthy in my view, although I suppose they'd say the same about me. If the church wanted the cleric captured then it's likely that the people Ne-Chanz and I were looking for were working for the church. I wouldn't advise asking there for them. A better idea would be to find them and ask them for whatever you want to know. So do you know where they are? Is it something I can help with?"

The dwarf pulls his hand out of his pouch and adds, "Here, this might tide you over," and hands over a fistful of coins.

======
Coinage handed over: [1d8] = 2PP, [1d10] = 9STP, [2d20] = 33SP, [1d8] = 4CP

Kendra Synclair (Osred's Armorer Shop)
Osred shrugs. "Well, it's what they pay me to do. And the army pays very well. Well, I guess you know that already. Feel free to return if you need it repaired or what something with better protection. The army covers all expenses."

(OOC: Kendra receives a suit of Red Dragonarmy Studded Leather Armor. She is now lightly encumbered and her movement rate drops to 8.)

Tulbas Erogund (Tower of Wayreth, Unknown Floor on AT 15)
After rechecking Selowen's bandage and handing her the wand, he heads out into the room to search. He doesn't get too far when he hears someone groaning in pain from behind an overturned desk.

(OOC: In all likelihood, Jinali left her spellbook in her room. But why would Tulbas give a spellbook to Haahqae? Nobody knows he's a mage, not even Tulbas.)

Gobax and Shima (Market Street)
Shima hands Gobax 2 platinum, 9 steel, 33 silver and 4 copper.

(OOC: Tristen, you are correct. Shima knows all about this, I put it in the first post of the chapter, in his section.)

Kendra nods then heads off to what she is calling work these days. ~This armor doesn't allow me to move very well,~ she thinks to herself. She can't help but wonder if there is a way to make it lighter.

Tulbas stops still, very carefully and silently takes the few steps back to Selowen to get the wand. After all he just told her to shoot any black robed moving thing. "Someone is alive." he whispers and then listens and searches carefully who moves and groans.

============================================================
(OOC:
I assume stopping still would make Selowen alert too.
Haaque wanted a book in return to Sekla spellbook. When Tulbas offered the library Haaque accepted but was kind of reluctant. He wanted a book as interesting as Sekla book. Tulbas recognized the Cantrips and illusions that were cast when Haaque was around where the others had armors on (most of them) or weapons other than staves, and he suspected he is a mage with all his questions. Haaque also had interest in Sekla's book and knew his value to begin with.)

I know they work for the church. Like I said, I already found them. They're somewhere in the noble district now... They live in a mansion there. I only mentioned them because you said you were doing the first job to find them, so i thought I'd help you out.

After Shima hands him the coin he stares at it in surprise. ...What's this for?

[Lol. You rolled for how much he gives Grubnick. That's great :lol: ]

"Well, if you want an inside line on the temple, those women, or whatever group they're with that worked for the church, is likely to be your best source of information. I'm still not sure what you're trying to achieve, but if you want some help, I'd be willing to try. It's not like I can do much single handed on the first job, now that Ne-Chanz has gone walkabout," replies Shima. After a thought, "But I might be more of a liability to you.. Anyway, the money, yes. You said you were running out of coin. So there you go, sorted for now, at least."

Yes, both of those places are dangerous. Maybe waiting out the winter would be a good idea, but let me try to put this in terms you would understand. Have you even seen another gnome in this city anywhere we’ve gone in the city? If I were to wait out the winter, there would be nothing for me to be waiting for. Without rescuing this gnome, my life would be an empty existence and entirely pointless. Does that make sense to you?

One of the big differences between a hero and a regular person, is that a hero is willing to take the risks of going to dangerous places, as long as the cause is good. I’ve been avoiding them for far too long, I should visit the manor to see what I’m up against. Heroes have to be well informed.

Miracle’s complete lack of knowledge was incredibly irritating to Haahqae when he first started to train her, but he’s slowly beginning to appreciate it. She was, after all, very young, so it was only to be expected. She’s also making great progress in learning the valuable lessons that someone of higher intelligence has to take into consideration. And… it was actually refreshing to look at things through her perspective sometimes. Shedding all the complications of society and looking at one’s actions through a simple lens like hers could produce a sort of zen-like wisdom sometimes.

With his meal eaten, Haahqae leaves the inn, in favor of taking a trip to the masked dragon for a bath. Today he was likely to do some dangerous skullduggery, and he preferred not to give away his location with scent while doing dangerous skullduggery.

Haahqae (Masked Dragon, common room)
'I think I understand,' Miracle replies. 'This is the last of your kind then? If you do not find her and mate with her, your species will end?'

Haahqae makes his way to the Masked Dragon and asks for a bath, which will cost him 4 copper pieces. The innkeeper there draws it up for him and then escorts him to the bathing room and leaves to give the gnome privacy.

(OOC: Haahqae spends 4 copper pieces.)

Kendra Synclair (Prefect's Mansion)
Kendra heads to the prefect's mansion, her new armor tucked into her backpack while her old armor is being worn. She is let through the usual checkpoints and makes her way into the mansion, to the dining area (now dubbed 'the war room') where the prefect often makes his plans.

"Ah, Kendra. Good morning. Did you pick up your armor yet? I believe it is ready now."

Tulbas Erogund (Tower of Wayreth, Unknown Floor on AT 15)
Tulbas returns to Selowen and retrieves the wand, then heads back to where he heard the groaning. Moving around the overturned desk, he finds none other than Magnus, slumped to the ground and badly wounded. He is bleeding from a chest wound that looks pretty bad if it isn't treated soon. "Tulbas! There you are. I thought maybe you had been killed in the fighting," he says, coughing. "Quickly now, find me some bandages or poultices. There should be some around here somewhere." He struggles to get to his feet, but is too weak and slumps back down.

"You!" Tulbas spits the words with hate. "Why would I help you? You killed my uncle when he was helpless even that I was willing to to anything you wish! You betrayed him, the order, everyone that I know and care for!" Tulbas surprise is replaced with rage building up as the memories of the last minutes of Raetmal return to him. And with that he casts a magic missile from the wand at Magnus.

===================================================
(OOC: Wohhoh!! That was a surprise! Well, I think that's the point where Tulbas will turn evil, although I tried to avoid it.
Tulbas uses the Magic Missiles wand since he is too angry to think straight.)

"I did," Kendra says. "It is an excellent piece of work," she adds with a light smile. "I almost don't want to wear it for fear of messing it up."

Thanks... that's very generous of you... I don't normally accept charity from people... but i'm kind of in a bind so i really appreciate it. He considers the dwarf a moment. Listen, as I said I have some meager skill at healing. I can check your wounds and try to get you back up to full strength quicker...

Grubnick thinks back to the day of the Elemental attack, and how he ran-into Shima covered in slime and smelling like a sewer.
Hey... um, there is something you might help me with. I was wondering, do you know anything about the sewers here?

"No problem. And it's not charity; it's a gift!" replies Shima. "Herbalist, huh? Sure, that would be great; thanks! Umm do I need to take my clothes off?"

After Gobax's pause, the dwarf answers, "I'm a pathfinder. That includes poking around in the oddest of places. So yes, I have some familiarity with the sewers here."
He picks up the pace a bit, keeping a lookout each time they turn a corner for any one following. "Happy to try and help. Honestly, it's just nice to find someone that'll talk to me. Anyway, if you can tell me a bit more about what you're looking for it might help. But if you can't, that's ok; I understand."

Kendra Synclair (Prefect's Mansion)
"Nonsense," Tethys replies. "The whole point of armor is to wear it. The army doesn't spend that kind of coin on just decoration. Go ahead and put it on. Let's see how it looks on you."

Tulbas Erogund (Tower of Wayreth, Unknown Floor on AT 15)
"No, wait!" Magnus cries, but Tulbas allows his rage and thirst for vengeance to overcome him. He blasts two magic missiles from the wand, which both unerringly seek out Magnus' chest and slam into it with concussive force. Magnus grunts in pain, then slides down quietly with a rattling breath. He goes completely still, his eyes still wide and staring forward, even in death.

The wand cracks and then crumbles to dust in his hands. Evidently, that was all the energy it had left in it. No wonder it had been left behind.

Kendra removes her armor, and puts on the newest armor that she just got. "So?" she asked. "It was made for me."

"Ah, now you truly look like the Hero of Haven," Tethys says. He gets up from his desk and approaches, walking around Kendra to examine her new armor from all directions. "This is perfect. Now that I've seen you in this uniform, I'm certain I want you to be the one to carry out the heretic cleric's public execution."
