I think it might be best to get out in the open cavern and see if Roger can draw their attention so we can attack them from behind.

"That is sound advice. Lead on, Mr Skull. Keep the protection on Roger, I will let him get their attention."

Alecia says to Jim, "Hold still," and tries to touch him gently on the arm whilst clutching her Divine Focus. She adds, "Is anyone still wounded?"

======
If Jim stands still fora few seconds, he gains advantage on all stealth checks for the next hour.
(This will take Alecia's action but she still moves with the group towards the large cavern.)

Jim looks askew at Woody as the latter comments on the wonderful qualities of these mushrooms and stares at the one he is currently eating somewhat skeptically. He peers at Woody's mushrooms again and back at his own just to make sure they are indeed the same. He looks confused, but resolutely continues munching on his own fungal snack.

Seeing the severity of Jim's remaining wounds, Alecia heals one of them. [+7HP]
Nix sees a flash from all around the room that falls in on the cleric, burns like a light blue flame along her arm and into Jim only to burst out of his chest and form an invisible shield.

As the group heads towards the exit, Roger concentrates and his flames die down, taking on the aspect of a guttering torch. [15’ dim light] In passing he casually heat-beams a wounded ‘stalactite’ that had climbed 10’ up the wall. “Hehee!” he giggles, “Anyone for Rock Lobster? Break the teeth of any bar dwarves.” He seems to think this is hilarious and sniggers at his own joke. Two more of the pointy-nosed creatures launch themselves at Roger and Jim, both missing.

Once back in the large cavern, Nix’s superior vision spots 8’ tall Blubbery-troll [#T3] clutching an armful of fist-sized stones. It’s accompanies by a 9’ tall troll [#T4] covered in an immense number of wrinkles, presumably much older and apparently female. They don’t seem to have noticed Roger’s illumination as the pair head westwards and disappear from view behind a large rock outcrop. Nix quietly shares this with the group.

Key: 10' square. Black = dead, red = wounded, green = unharmed

What next?
(And pick your initiative order.)

======
Everyone has rested to some degree so combat starts at round 1.
If the group decide to go for ambush then round 1 will allow party attacks with advantage (and no counterattack) until the individual’s stealth roll fails against the trolls’ passive perception.
As the group has a short period (1 round prior to combat) to organise and position themselves before the trolls emerge from behind the rocks, the party can choose their own initiative order.

***
Roger suggests he should get the trolls’ attention immediately after Jim attacks them from behind, guerrilla-style. It could confuse the green creatures a bit longer. Or else Roger could simply go first if the group prefer. Unless directed otherwise he will cast Blur and shelter behind the western edge of the central rock formation that eclipses the trolls.

Alecia suggests she should go last.

"Roger should act first, then me. Jim does not need to draw extra attention to himself."

Initiative Woody" [1d20] = 20 +2 = 22

What do you think of this positioning to start. Woody, Alecia and Nix start behind the rock. Sue and Jim behind the edge of the rock and Roger go out to get the attention.

Question is when do we start our attack? After Roger fires the first two heat rays? Roger will need to also light the area around him so we have better vision and the trolls darkvision will be negated once they are in the light so we won't be visible at a distance?

"Once Roger blasts them, has their attention I will go give him a hand. If he ends up getting nailed too hard, he can float away." He looks at Roger. "I'm thinking they will not like fire the most. I'm thinking you fly over to them and give them a big boom surprise, you mentioned fireball."

Alecia interjects, "Won't they be more than 30' away so you might not be able to melee with them immediately?"

"True, more time for Rog here to blast them with a bit more fire."

"True. But if he goes before you they might not see you," she continues before collapsing, "But I'm sure you're better at this so never mind me."

If you move forward within roger's light, they'll be able to see you. Then roger flies up and blasts them as you continue on
