Everything was going well, but there was a curse of ineptitude about us... myself, you, and Boyd. even Van could not manager a hit.. if was a low moment for all of us. what I need is a bow made for my strength, do you know who could create such a weapon? It would keep me from melee..”

"To be fair... I'm not a fighter. I did manage to scare a few with an illusion. Does the city put out armored patrols?"

Linar smiles noncommittally.

======
OOC: Just recalled Linar does not speak Common, so is this conversation in elvan?

“I know Van... your talents with the Arcane will outpace and outstrip mine however, proving that might is more than the strength of ones arm.”

OOC: yes. It’s Garroth’s native language.

[Elven will probably be easiest for everyone here. All of the pcs speak it I think, and there are enough Elves and half-elves in the populace that it won't be an issue]

The group relax and tell tales throughout the night, Cedric and the soldiers answering their questions as they come up. Eariel informs Garroth that such a suit of leather could be made for him, certainly, but the process would take several weeks and he would have to come in to have the fitting checked every week or so. A shield could be ready for him tomorrow, however.

The try to ease Linar's mind, explaining that while he certainly would be the subject of some curiosity, Bordertown was a very close knit community not unaccustomed to unique visitors. Word would very quickly spread that a Drow and a Minotaur were responsible for freeing citizens, and he would not be accosted. He is reminded that the Elves however might be rather cool to him. Regarding the coin, That amount you might need to exchange in several places. I could have it changed at the Royal Armory in the keep.

Perhaps if you had told us what you were doing before attacking, we could have helped more... Tag says regarding the raid on the orc bandits. To van he nods, Yes, we have patrols out within and outside of the town each night.

The next morning the market opens at daybreak [boyd is welcome to sell his furs and things], and a generous breakfast is prepared for them. Cedric returns to inform van that he'll certainly be allowed to use the magic shop in the 2nd ward, and offers to escort him when ready so he finds it easily.

=====
[Boyd is can sleep in the stable if he wants; even in the same horse-stall with Salem if he wishes. He does have a room already arranged for him if he wants to use it though.

Armor for Garroth would have to be custom made, which would take weeks. But don't forget, he wouldn't be able to cast arcane spells in it. A 'small' shield could be prepared for him from a Medium shield with a simple modification to the grip. That would cost 7 gp.

He will do that and ask directions to the castle Boyer. Once there he will show the man his longbow, and ask about the possibility of making such a bow with a 180 lb pull. “For shooting rabbits that hide behind trees.” Garrotte jokes.

OOC: whatever pull is appropriate - of not for 19 Str, the best he can muster.

Linar awakens early enough to refresh/regain his spells.
During breakfast he tries to pick up some simple phases of Common, falling back into elven as required.
After thanking the hosts for a wonderful breakfast, Linar inquires where if a few more arrows might be acquired, (enough to refill his quivers to 30 sheaf and 10 flight.).
If that is successful, the dark elf asks whether there is a temple to Corellon in the town and whether him visiting it would be problematic.
Finally Linar tries to tag along with any visiting the to the mage, not that he thinks he has enough cash for another spell, but more to see what the prices are like and (mostly) to gain a little more of the Common language.

======
[OOC: is this worth 2% chance to understand Common?]
