Game Mechanics

Postby Saigith Night » Sat Dec 07, 2013 10:32 am

ok... i need some help...

after some serious thought, i was wondering, how to accumulate the 100+ mil credits to purchase a trading vessel to start bringing in income for my planet....
my only solutions for this was,
1 - spend the 200,000 turns... approximate time 69.5 days.... (Energy - Goods trade route - 150,000ish credits per 50 block run (200 turns)
2 - Compound Interest via the IGB which has a interest rate of 0.005 (0.5%?) for active balances each update (5 mins?)... - Not too sure about the mechanics for this... Clarification please?
3 - Find a Casino - Very Iffy... no save function and thus... problematic...

Any help for this?

I didn't create the engine so I'm having just as many issues as you are...but it is a stable, well tested game, so it's probably a matter of trail and error. Hell if I knew everything about the game I wouldn't play

I know you need a planet to get a shipyard now and no, I don't trust the casino either :( it seems to work, but it's buggy.

ok i read the mechanics and the settings, but they dont really make a lot of sense. there is a lot of technical information on that page that is extremely useful.... but does not answer my question.... oh well i guess your right there is a lot of trial and error that needs to be done... thank you all the same ^.^

(edited - added on)
i was experimenting with the IGB and tried to have a large sum of credits.... but it did not give interest, *sad face* trying other methods

Ok, i found the best way to get a ship, that i can think of so far is to feed a planet colonists, then have them do the production, once you reach a suficiant number of colonists, start feeding another requirement for the planet to get based. when the planet is based have them work on organics and credits until you get the new ship.

Ok here is a new question...

Why, every so often do i go to work, 10 hours pass and i only have 280 turns...
by my calculation i should have 2400? (60 min / 5 min * 20 turns * 10 hours =2400 turns)

Is there server downtime? Or possibly something in game that stops turns from being added like spies or sabotage?

Nope, never any downtime... and I don't think anything stops the counter in game. However, I don't make the engine, maybe since the new core code came out something stops it. I seem to get all my turns :)
