Re: Family woes.. Boo hiss..

Glad to see you spoke with your brother. Was it MRSA he had? Yikes! Not sure. He didn't say... Though i'd laugh if it was, since when i was stationed in the UK twice, i heard many a story about people CONTRACTING it while staying in NHS hospitals! Like I said, lots of nutritional supplements out th...

Re: Family woes.. Boo hiss..

Well i finally spoke WITH my brother, after his leg surgery. Apparently, what the co-worker heard, about it being gangreen in his foot, was wrong. It was one of those flesh eating bacterias.. And he suffers from depression, which is why he's had issues taking care of himself. BUT now he knows and ha...

Re: Family woes.. Boo hiss..

Yes he was, but only for 18 mo before being booted out. And he doesn't have a copy OF his DD-214.. That's one of the forms that the IRS called me about, to try and help them locate..

Re: Family woes.. Boo hiss..

Damn! That totally sucks! Do you know if it was adult onset diabetes? If so, you can manage it to a large degree. Is there any other family nearby that can check in on him and help with the situation? When you say he is in and out of consciousness - was he in a coma, or just recovering from surgery...

Re: Family woes.. Boo hiss..

Damn, dude... Aspergers is normally thought of as a developing as a childhood malady. Do you recall him ever having any tendencies for such a condition? Nope. That's what his manager thinks he might possibly be suffering from, because of his anti-socialness. She remarked (when we chatted), he seeme...

Family woes.. Boo hiss..

A # of years back, my pops passed.. At the Funeral, me and my brother made a promise to two of our uncles, that we'd do a hell of a lot better in keeping in touch with one another.. Well, i've tried, but my brother hasn't. IN fact, in that almost 8 year span, i've gotten at most, 2 letters and 1 ema...

Re: Frost brand/flame tongue vs. flesh golem?

I've had a wielder of a frost brand before, go against a flesh golem. DM did NOT have the sword, act like those spells to slow it.. So i say NO.
It would NOT count to slow a golem down. Same with a Flame tongue...

Re: Ever have a player "rage quit" a game?

He made 2 guys up initially, back when the group was started way back last year. BUT since he'd been absent for quite a while, they had been "retired". And as the group at the time was battling on an island, it made more sense for him to take over 2 existing characters in the group, one wa...

Re: Ever have a player "rage quit" a game?

Is he actually asking to retool or are you just inferring it? He inferred it himself.. One of the reasons is because he doesn't use fighting styles. He has proficiencies in dagger and morningstar, which are worthless, and medium shield, which he shouldn't be using. He should instead have weapon sty...

Ever have a player "rage quit" a game?

So, for a little back story; Our group initially consisted of 4 players. One eventually quit the game due to living 50+ miles away, and started our group and stuck with it for 4 game sessions, till our player #s were up. One other moved out of state recently. A third of the initial core group had a ...

Re: Should flame tongues give "warmth"?

Copy that. So for NOW, i'll stick with it does NOT give a ring of warmth like effect. BUT there might be a greater version out there, which does. (maybe it's intelligent and that's one of its powers).

Re: Should flame tongues give "warmth"?

So as it stands, no it wouldn't give a "warmth" like effect, as the FB does fire resistance. BUT if it did, it would be worth comparible XP..

Re: Should flame tongues give "warmth"?

True, but just looking at the 1e DMG< the flame tongue is listed as only 900xp/4500gp, where the frost brand is listed at 1600xp/8000xp.. Almost double it's value. Some on DF, feel that if we DID give the flame tongue the effect of that ring, we should bump up its xp to being comparible to the frost...

Should flame tongues give "warmth"?

Over on DF, in a discussion about magical swords, it was pointed out, that THOUGH a frost brand does give it's wielder Fire resistance.. A Flame tongue, does NOT give the same towards cold.. So who here thinks that a flame tongue, SHOULD have granted the effects of the ring of warmth (spell resist c...
