Re: How long from time found, to reality??

Even at 600 yrs old, most living dwarves would be 6-7 generations removed at least from something that was lost over 5000 yrs ago. That said, yes i am thinking it 'being re-discovered', would make for a slightly swifter re-making process, especially with 6 newly found suits in pristine condition.. S...

Re: How long from time found, to reality??

Bringing this thread back up.. Three pcs, have had plate made for them, but it was done erroneously, as per notes i have both in the gaming realm main document, as well as the expanded city info, the notes for the "mining city" make it known currently banded is the highest level of armor a...

Re: players leave, and their characters take cool magic...

The current group doesn't really do the 'communal' property on magic.. It stays in party funds, TILL someone claims it, then its yours unless YOU trade it to someone else..

Re: I've had the computer-in-the-shop blues.

That happeneed to me, back in 2015 iirc. My old Win 98 laptop finally crapped out after almost 12 years of owning it.. Had to get one with Win 8.1 on as that's all that was available (Or Win 10)..

Re: players leave, and their characters take cool magic...

Most of the time the player in question just stopped showing up (or let me know they were dropping out and moving away).. So the character often stayed around the party (could be hired as an henchman, or assigned to someone till they rolled their own PCs up), TILL after a while the group as a whole ...

players leave, and their characters take cool magic...

Earlier this week, Thomas, one of my players who does the book=keeping for party treasure made the comment, its a "Pet peeve" of his, when players come into the game, get assigned cool items from party loot, then leave, with their characters taking those items out of the group... How does ...

Re: A Wild Star Wars discussion appeared!

Even still, I liked it better than The Force Awakens - because at least it wasn't a direct rehash of A New Hope. Same here. The reason I liked The Last Jedi so much is it broke the pattern that Star Wars always follows. Rey isn't the chosen one, she's a nobody. Luke isn't a sainted hero, it's a bro...

Re: Metagaming.. What counts?

That all being said, I probably wouldn't have ignored the pudding's ability to split back in the earlier game. The player can now argue that because you ran the monster as not being able to split back then, it should not split now. The CHARACTER'S knowledge tells him that the pudding does not split...

Re: Metagaming.. What counts?

I disagree here, it's definitely not my mistake. I let them know that I toned the first encounter down because of their level but their character's still would have never known that. Meta gaming is meta gaming...they took knowledge from outside the game and applied it to the game as knowledge their...

Re: Metagaming.. What counts?

Oh wow, I never saw that one. Where is it from? What source book I mean? It's home made.. And i booboooed.. IT's 7th not 6th level.. Kei's Tattoo of Keeping Alteration School V/S/M Touch range AOE 1 person Duration Perm Casting time, 1 turn + level of spell being affixed. The Wu-Jen Shagui devised ...

Re: Metagaming.. What counts?

Personally, I would not allow that. The DMG outlines how scrolls and spellbooks must be made of fine paper and use special ink. Skin isn't going to be able to retain that magical energy since it's a living, changing cellular structure (minerals and electrolytes going in and out, bio-electrical char...

Re: Metagaming.. What counts?

This issue has always been a problem for me and some of my groups of players where we take turns DMing. Sometimes I get burned out DMing and like to take a break and play for awhile. It can be a real challenge to keep your mouth shut when you encounter something that, as a DM, you know what it is, ...
