Re: Movie quote game

As the person who started this thing, I guess I'm the one making the rules. :)

That sounds good: if seven days goes by without a correct response, the last person to post can give a few hints for the one already posted, or they can put up a new quote.

Re: Metal Hurlant Chronicles

I saw both episodes last night and liked them both. I didn't know it was supposed to be a short-story kind of show, where each episode was self-contained, so I was a little surprised by the twist ending of the first. Now that I know the format, I look forward to seeing what they do with it, and I al...

Re: Movie quote game

You are correct, BM.
C58 you sort of beat BM to it, but didn't say the name of the movie, so, C58: you get NOTHING. You LOSE. GOOD DAY, SIR. :)

Very close, but not the one I had in mind. It is more recent than that.

Re: Movie quote game

I don't know what the statute of limitations is on the person posting a winning response having to post a new quote, but it has to have expired by now.
C58, post something, or I'm going to. :)

Re: Stik's Art - Calligraphy and Illumination

As I've mentioned here before, the rank of sergeant in the Kingdom of Acre is sort of a half-step to becoming a knight. It's an indication that you are being taken seriously as a fighter and that knighthood may be in your future. Conrad Jarnhand was made sergeant at Damien and Tara's coronation. (cl...

Re: Your favorite Setting

I am a big fan of the Dark Sun setting, except for one thing: psionics. It's far too prevalent. You can't even eat a salad for lunch without engaging in psionic combat with the tomatoes. It really slows down things that should really be quite simple, like quick random encounters or dungeon designs. ...

Re: Movie quote game

You got it. Go. By the way, that song that the Hong Kong Cavaliers play immediately after that line is spoken is actually a cover of a song called "Rocket 88" that was recorded in 1951 by members of Ike Turner's band. Rocket 88 is arguably one of the first rock and roll songs ever recorded...

Re: Movie quote game

Really? Way too easy, assuming the film you mean is: "The Princess Bride" And as to Cole's jugger reference: Cole and I were discussing a post-apocalyptic setting, and I was throwing out some examples of movies and books with the appropriate feel for such a setting. Blood of Heroes (aka Sa...

Re: My Big Fat Geek Wedding

You know, I watched that whole program and found it vaguely uncomfortable to watch.

It seemed that the people involved did a half-way job of the whole thing.
