Re: Diversity changes

I don't have either of those adventures, nor have I run or played in them, but these changes sound fine to me. I understand they hired an actual Romani advisor for the changes to Curse of Strahd.

Re: Opinions on Premade Settings

For those of you who do steal from other settings, what kind of stuff to you steal? For me, it's maps. I rip off maps constantly, from just about everywhere. Not just modules, but even videogames. I once ran an entire dungeon from Skyrim. It's not that I can't draw maps; I mean, I can't draw them we...

Re: Opinions on Premade Settings

The only setting I've run actual campaigns in that wasn't homebrewed is Dragonlance. I've run modules that take place in Greyhawk or Forgotten Realms, but that's it. And I do put a lot of effort into making sure my Dragonlance games are true to the lore. I'll spend hours on the wiki, making sure I g...

Re: What's worse than drunk players? Yup

Can't say that was ever a problem for me. Then again, the last time I played a face-to-face game was back when I and my players were too young to drink anyway.

Re: Campaign defining encounters

I've known far too many group like that, which is often why Charisma is a dump stat, AND they don't bother with languages... One of the games I'm running is just a series of 2E FR modules. It's for my 'old school' group. We started with Doom of Daggerdale, moved on to The Accursed Tower, and just s...

Re: Campaign defining encounters

Pretty cool, and to be honest, I would be reluctant to kill normally animalistic creatures that had gain sentience as well. Oh, yeah, same here. But this particular party tended to solve any and every problem with violence. The only time they'd even consider parleying is if the enemy were to bring ...

Re: Campaign defining encounters

I've had that happen to me a few times. The most memorable was on one of my homebrew worlds (the monotheistic one I mentioned in the Monotheism vs. Polytheism thread). The party encountered two tribes of humans that were gearing up to go to war with each other. After some investigation on their part...

West March Style Game

Have you guys ever heard of a West March style game? Or ever participated in something like that? What do you think of it? I admit, a part of it sounds appealing to me, in that it's a great workaround to having multiple players who can't always meet up consistently to game. On the other hand, a game...

Re: Features Wanted - Public Debate Open

Play by post. It's a game that's run on a forum, like this one, instead of in a chatroom or face-to-face.

Re: Monotheism vs Polytheism

I did once run a monotheistic world. It was a homebrew setting I came up with. There was only one god, who lived in a flying tower that circled the main continent. He mostly kept to himself, just watching things play out. But every now and again he would send an agent or herald to shake things up a ...

Monotheism vs Polytheism

Have you ever noticed that every D&D world, both published and homebrewed, is always polytheistic and never monotheistic? I think Dragonlance has the fewest number of gods at 21 for a published setting, and there's still a lot of overlap (several different nature gods, for instance, three differ...

Re: New Website YouYatter.com (Please Help D&Ders!)

I'm just speaking from my own experiences, having been a mod at many different sites. The ability to say anything you want without moderation opens your site up to all sorts of terrible people. Take a look at 4chan or even worse, 8chan. Just full of bigoted hate speech, pedophilia, harassment, and c...

Re: New Website YouYatter.com (Please Help D&Ders!)

But could that be exploited? If harassers joined together, couldn't they 'thumbs down' and 'bad review' people they don't like en mass?

How will you keep it from becoming the next Gab and being overrun with Nazis and harassers?
