This is what my children ask me to make when we go out for a day in the woods.
It keeps well even when not refrigerated (temperatures here don’t exeed the nineties Fahrenheit). If there’s a chance for a campfire, the children prefer to take the wuerstl extra and spear them on a twig to roast them over the fire.
For each serving, you need approximately:
1 cup cooked noodles (spirelli work best)
1/2 cup tomatoes, in 1/2 inch pieces
1/2 cup cucumber, in 1/2 inch pieces
1 frankfurter or wiener, in thick slices
1 Tablespoon jogurt or sour cream
1 Teaspoon tomato ketchup
Put all ingredients into a tupperware or similar container with a firmly closing lid and mix.
It’s about as basic as you can get!
And the possible variations are endless…
