Beef Barbecue or Homemade Sloppy Joes

Forget about that stuff that comes in a can; this recipe is for a homemade sloppy joe that tastes 100% better, is easy to make, and worth the wait.

Beef Barbecue

(Homemade Sloppy Joes)


6 lbs lean ground beef

1 large onion, diced

2 Tbsp. chopped garlic

1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes with green chiles

1 bottle barbecue sauce (KC Masterpiece, Lea & Perrins or Bullseye), original flavor



Brown the ground beef and drain off the excess oil.  Place in a 6-qt crockpot; add in remaining ingredients and stir well.

Low heat – will cook in 5-6 hours.

High heat – will cook in 2-3 hours.

Stir occasionally.
